The new trend in the Asagao fandom about making everyone LGBT in some way is tbh disrespectful to the actual sexualities and genders of the guys. Plus the one where Jared's mom is the only het is just rude to the allies of this community. Slapping labels on people doesn't normalize LGBTs guys. Before you label me as cishet btw, I'm a bi girl who has considered dating girls before.
Hey, no judgement here, don't worry! Over the past year, I've kind of lost touch with the Asagao fandom, as I stopped following too many blogs and the only Asagao content I really see is from @dappio (my fave artist) and on this blog and my side @imaginenormalblock, so I really haven't noticed. But that doesn't mean it's not happening. I can understand why that's hella problematic, but at the same time I can see the other side of the story, where people want to see their favorite characters as relatable characters, who experience similar struggles and feel the same way about certain things. I understand where it all stems from, but at the same time I see your point entirely, as it can be construed as disrespectful to many involved and possibly not the best way to go about 'normalizing' the LGBTQ+ community in small ways. It's a Catch-22, a double-sided spear. It's hard to say just how right or just how wrong the whole situation is and because I'm horribly uninformed about the topic (and will admit as much) I'm going to leave it here and let others draw their own conclusions.
