He can feel his grin waver but strains to keep it in place. “He wants to see me. He is— He wants to see me. He knows me.” - Or: Fourteen-year-old Peter took the gamble and traveled from his hometown Malibu to New York city for a ‘slumber party’ that, if it were up to him, will extend to approximately twenty thousand nights. He hasn’t seen Tony in five years, and going back home is not an option. But everything will be all right. Why wouldn’t it be?

It had been a joke between them, once. “Mr. Stark, I need your help,” Peter would admit after one of his many screw ups, and every time Tony would immediately quip, “Where’s the body? I’ll get the shovel.” It makes Peter want to throw up, thinking about that now.

Wake up and smell the coffee by Bergen

He hugs scared children when he's out on patrol. He does flips because people ask. He shares his churros with the pigeons. He takes photos, helps tourists with directions, limps away from fight and waves off any help that is offered.

Once there was a little girl who was crying by the roadside just as he was starting his patrol. Seeing that there were no adults next to her, he swings to her side and sits by.

He asks if she was in trouble, if everything was alright. The girl nods through tears - not even fazed by Spider-Man - and says how she lost her pet.

Peter makes it his mission to find Ruby, the girl's ginger cat and he does it as comical as he can do that her tears would subdue. He does flips and shows her little tricks as they walk street to street.

By some miracle, Peter finds her cat sitting on a tree branch. Carefully, he gets her down to the little girl who immediately hugs it to her chest.

Peter crouches beside her, a smile forming in his lips as she giggles. Then is surprised when she throws her free arm around his neck in a hug.

She yells excitedly Thank you, Spider-Man and is already skipping away with her found pet.

Peter stares at the retreating figure for a while, a sense of contentment in him.

Attaching his web to a nearby building, he swings away after the figure disappears from his vision.

These moments kept Peter going as Spider-Man more than anything did.

And it became his only reason to continue even when everybody asked if he was going to be the next Tony Stark, even when his face was splashed with the headline masked menace now unmasked!, even when the world forgot the kid underneath the spandex.

Unbeknownst to him, a teenager named Aliya is now running a blog titled Spider-Man's defense squad with her ginger cat gently purring on her lap safely.

I imagine him, Ned and MJ hanging out on a normal weekend at the donut shop or smth and then suddenly Tony mother fucking Stark walks in and hands Peter his keys that he forgot in the lab. Peter doesn’t even blink, just says “thanks Mr Stark” and goes back to being playing with his phone.

“I’m really missing you today, Tony. I don’t know how it’s already been six months, but uhm,” Peter trailed off as someone came and stood next to him, admiring the memorial. He waited for them to walk away before continuing. “Time seems to move faster in a world that you aren’t in anymore.”

It all starts with a pair of pants. Then, it’s a jacket. Then, the food, and the circles under his eyes, until finally, Peter starts cancelling their lab sessions. Peter is acting odd, Tony wants to get to the bottom of it, but it really seems like it’s just Peter being a teenager and making poor decisions. Until it becomes clear that’s not what’s going on at all, and now Tony has a lot of mistakes to fix.

Tony and Pepper share a look. “Well Christ, kid. I didn’t know we were dealing with a criminal. Pep used to work for the police so you might wanna keep those kind of admissions to yourself-”

Pepper gives Tony’s arm a playful slap, smothering her smile as she looks back at him. “What Tony was trying to say was that we want you as you are. Quirks and all.”

Peter doesn’t know whether to trust that, but it doesn’t seem like he really has much of a choice, does it?

He used to wear cheap Iron Man merch to sleep. After Tony comes into his life, he wore plain shirts out of fear of him finding out.

He watches interior design documentaries about the Avengers tower so when he first goes there, he knows his way round and Tony was scared he'd been stalking him.

He carries around a small notebook with facts about Tony, suit ideas, and one liners he took from Tony to say to criminals.

Before she died, Aunt May found his spidersuit while cleaning and she thought he was a cosplayer, she bought him tickets to a convention and he went in his suit.

He lost a spiderman lookalike competition.

He doodles spiderwebs on the corners of his notebooks, along with the Iron Man helmet.

He lets spiders into the tower as he feels like killing them was similar to a human killing another human.

He has brown eyes, but after he was bitten the centre went green as it grows as he gets older, only Tony noticed.

Has an Iron Man fan page with thousands of followers (Tony is aware of, but Peter doesn't know he knows).

He accidentally wears his suit to school a lot, and Tony has to ask him before he leaves in the mornings.

Coffee and energy drinks make him incredibly tired, whenever hes in the labs too long, Tony will give him coffee so he'll go to sleep.

Happy: that’s Tony's full name. Anthony Stark.

Peter: Oh..
