1 - The Phantom of the Opera (2004)

if you enjoy musicals, this is really good!! the music is amazing and it has a very victorian romantic gothic feeling to it, highly recommend!

2 - The Red Shoes (1948)

even though it's from the 40s, i personally think it's more well colored and well shot than most A24 movies nowadays. it's like the grandmother of Perfect Blue and Black Swan :)

3 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

VERY campy, and it's also a musical. the music is incredibly peak, and if you enjoy queer horror comedy, this is right up your alley

4 - The Last Unicorn (1982)

the animation is very beautiful to look at, and it's actually a little dark (think like The Dark Crystal or The Labyrinth), but the story is very interesting and it really is a hidden gem

5 - speaking of, The Labyrinth (1986)

this is my main childhood movie, it's great if you love or like david bowie, and it's a jim henson movie so the puppeteering and the environments are absolutely spectacular
