me as a teenager: man it sucks to have no privacy or autonomy but i guess its for a good reason. when i turn 18 i will realise how young i was and understand why they did all that.

me as an adult: teenagers are an oppressed class, their abuse is normalised and systemic and they need to start killing people

Oh my gosh yes! I never understand the surprise behind domestic abuse statistics because we've spent years teaching children that their provider has full dominion over them. Children are a "blessing" and treated as such from 0-12 years the minute they turn 13 onwards they're treated as a punishment their parents should endure.

We systemically treat teenagers as if they're inherently lying, manipulative, suspicious people and it's disgusting! It's so easy for any adult to craft the narrative of a troubled teenager if they believe a teenager isn't submissive enough to their authority.

we really dont think of ourselves as a viking people, maybe a bit in islands but on the mainland? not really, if you sit in an estonian history class that's just not the narrative at all
