Madelyn Stillwell was with Homelander from the very beginning of his life outside the lab, and she openly exploited his wounds and traumas. I saw the Madelyn/Homelander sex scene on the internet before I even started watching the show, and even without knowing the characters at all, that scene deeply disturbed me. Homelander looked like he was genuinely in pain in that scene, so from the start of the show, when I saw his relationship with Stillwell, my impression was that Homelander has no actual interest in having sex with someone who's a mother figure to him. this got confirmed for me later in season 4, when the same dynamic repeated with Firecracker and Homelander clearly wasn't into having sex with her either. Homelander only went along with sleeping with Madelyn because he didn't want to lose her approval and affection in any form, even in a form that was visibly distressing to him. I definitely need to mention that scene where Homelander made Doppelganger shapeshift into Madelyn's form. in that scene, all Homelander wanted was to lay his head in her lap and rest — he had basically zero sexual intent. this scene could honestly be seen as further confirmation that Madelyn was the one forcing the sexual relationship onto Homelander.
