no more secrets

"Tired and worn out, I draw the blanket closer to my body. Outside it's dark and cold, the sun doesn't like to come out to play anymore. The world has fallen into winter sleep without any magic to it. Just darkness, rain and freezing limbs. There is nothing to get out of bed for. Slowly, quietly it starts. First it seems like another shower of rain. But no! It's white, serene flurry of tiny dots falling from the sky. Snow. This is what I'm getting out of bed for today. It makes me clap my hands in excitement as I stand in my pj's in front of the window. Snow. I can't wait to get on my sturdy boots, scarf and hat to get outside and crunch the freshly fallen white and leave my mark behind. Snow. A simple blessing that makes me feel so much lighter. My cheeks are red, my hands have frozen from pressing the shutter of my camera again and again and again. I wish I could go outside again into the white winter wonderland that spreads outside my bedroom window."

It was a night of unusual gloom.
