If anyone reading this was under the impression that police go easy on white female protesters or female protesters who meet some standard of “correctly” feminine dress or any female protesters, please, please learn more about the history of women’s participation in mass demonstrations and police responses to them. “Chicks up front” didn’t work out too well as a strategy for protecting crowds of anti-Vietnam War protesters. Two of the Kent State four were women. When Occupy New York was going on, people who were there posted about how the police often seemed to be targeting female protesters, including white female protesters, more than male protesters. If you’re thinking about participating in the ongoing protests, go with your eyes wide open. And for goodness’ sake, don’t go in heels.

absolutely nobody should be going out to take part in the protests having intentionally made themselves as vulnerable and helpless as possible due to a campaign of sanctimonious misinformation convincing them that their vulnerability will spark humanity in sadistic cops having the time of their lives brutalizing protest. if they'll tear gas or shove you or shoot at you or drive into you while you're wearing practical boots, they'll do the same when you're in your cute little heels; the only difference is that your movement will be restricted and you'll be vastly less likely to be able to escape or help protect others

the difference between made up sexualities and “”made up”” genders is that your gender is individual and doesn’t rely on other people. yes, being a lesbian/bi/gay can be a big part of your gender identity, but saying you’re stargender or idk doesn’t actually harm other trans/nb people, it’s just your way to define your experience with gender. however, saying “I’m attracted to men women and transed genders” or “I’m attracted to cis women and trans men” or any new word you invent that means *enter exact definition of bisexuality* does rely on other people who fought to create labels such as gay/bi/lesbian and erasing their effort, sometimes even reversing it, and says a lot on how you see trans people, our bodies and our genders.
