Omega Sherry and Alpha Jake but their blood/virus strain affects their secondary gender, like a ton.
Fair warning this is long as fuck and kind of took on a mind of its own. Started off Jake/Sherry and ended Jake/Sherry/Piers lol
I like to think about Jake, who has been an alpha all his life, but never had an interest in omegas or even mating at all. He never really had a rut or any of the vast protective instincts that a lot of alphas possessed. He cared about his mom and money and that was about it. And when his mom died it was easy to shut down that part of himself that longed for someone to take care of. Alphas thrive in situations where they can prove their competency as a mate/protector/provider/whatever. Jake does have that drive but it's easy for him to lock it away to get the job done. Some people call him a psychopath for how easy it was for him to ignore his base instincts but he couldn't care less. There's only so many times you can watch an alpha being betrayed and killed by a pretty omega who ratted them out before it starts to leave a bad taste in your mouth. His time as a merc made his distaste for omegas even stronger because he knew they could be vicious when threatened. Plus, his father was an omega and he abandoned them so there was no love lost there anyway.
Then there's sherry who was a beta originally but the g-virus mutated her into an omega for breeding purposes, something the scientists found extremely fascinating. Even with the g virus, she could have been an average omega if she wasn't so isolated her whole life. She was never allowed to nest or scent anything or anyone. She was barely socialized after raccoon and Omegas need connection in order for their minds to develop healthily. Similar to alphas, they thrive in situations where they can provide for and take care of someone, where it's a friend, partner, or child. Omegas are the most social of the 3 genders, with betas as a very close second. They need a pack or at the very least a trusted alpha to help during times of stress.
Sherry's pack heats were brutal because she didn't technically have a pack. They would last for a week or more and were a serious strain on her system. She's never actually had a true heat before, like the kind that comes before a mating. Usually that's normal until an omega becomes an adult or finds their alpha. Heats for young omegas, or pack heats, are usually just uncomfortable and can be alleviated by scenting a family member or trusted friend and nesting in a safe environment. Sherry's, however, are painful and she has no one to help her through them. After the first one that nearly killed her, Claire raised hell until she could get authorization to be there with her. As the alpha Sherry trusted most, Claire helped as much as she possibly could during the heats. She tried to get them to let Leon be there too, knowing another omega can help in a different way than an alpha can, but they had him on such a tight leash.
Claire does her best to slip material with hers and Leon's scent into Sherry's room when she can. She even starts slipping in Chris and Jill's scent, and later, carlos and Rebecca's; anything to help Sherry know that she has a pack waiting for her once she gets out of here. Sherry clings to that, those scraps of fabric her most treasured possessions, but it isn't enough. By the time of her fourth heat, the scientists have her on heavy duty supressants. The kind that are kept in emergency and survival kits that are meant to stave off a heat just until help arrives or you can get to a safe place. They were never meant to be for long term use, but Sherry's healing factor burns through everything else. The heavy duty suppressants hurt her in a different way. They silence her omega, her base instincts. She feels off balance during them, until enough time passes that it's almost more normal for her to not feel her omega than to be in tune with it.
Before any mission, the DSO shoots her so full of scent blockers and suppressors and who knows what else that she can barely think straight for the next hour. They say it's because her omega is overly emotional and volatile, that she can't trust her instincts in life or death situations.
When they first meet it's so chaotic they barely have a chance to know each others names before they start running for their lives. Despite that, Jake knows almost immediately that this omega was different. Not just different, she was his. His omega. It takes her almost falling off that bridge, the swoop of terror in his stomach and the way he dropped everything to grab her before she fell. He barely knows her and suddenly he's leaving himself vulnerable to attack just to help her up? He wants to ignore it, truthfully. His life was simple, all he had to look out for was himself and his interests. But it's instinctive and relentless, this urge to provide for this woman he just met and its honesty pissing him off. He never believed in something as foolish as scent matches or soul mates. But then again, he was currently fighting a massive slimy monster straight out of a Star Trek episode, so he supposes anything is fair game.
So now there was this beautiful, fierce omega that his alpha had basically claimed. And Jake muller had always been a possessive bastard, so he needs to protect this woman despite seeing she can clearly handle herself in combat. So when the helicopter crashes, he's grabbing the parachute and curling around her to try to take the brunt of the fall without a second thought. Only to realize he failed when he sees the shrapnel sticking out of her spine. The grief nearly bowls him over, if he hadn't already been sitting he would have collapsed to the ground. He's never been more scared in his life than when he was pulling that piece of metal out of her before throwing it as far away from them as he can. His hands are shaking, breath coming in short panicked gasps, and then he's watching as her skin knits back together, leaving only a pale scar where there was once a fatal wound. It's the most incredible thing he's ever seen and he realizes right then that he's so far gone on this woman it's stupid.
It takes Sherry until they get to the cabin to realize what's happening between them. The suppressors silenced her omega, but her body seemed to be working overtime to burn through them as fast as possible. When they do, she can suddenly smell Jake and her omega knows, instinctually, that he is hers and she is his. It's like everything inside her that was forced to lay dormant for all this time is suddenly ripping through her.
She's never had the chance to follow her instincts before but nothing else has ever felt this important. so she starts immediately by telling Jake everything that's happening. The trust she has for him is implicit. As strong as anything she's ever experienced and it settles over her without any doubt. She tells him about Raccoon city, about her parents and their neglect and then the labs and their experiments. The isolation and the loneliness and the suppression of her most base instincts. Never allowed to nest or scent or purr, not that she ever had a reason to. Kept away from anything or anyone she could grow attached to except for Claire, who she definitely would have died without. She explains who Chris is to her, how he's part of her pack even if she's never met him before. This revelation immediately quells the jealousy Jake had toward the other Alpha and how safe he seemed to make Sherry feel. And by the end, Jake is holding her tight and shaking with rage at what she went through and the people who put her through it.
They get interrupted before they can really talk about anything else. The campaign continues on with them growing closer until they're captured and separated. Jake nearly goes insane in that room, pacing and snarling at not being able to see Sherry. Never knowing if she's ok or if she's in pain or if she's even fucking alive.
When he breaks out and hunts her down, he's teetering on the edge of going feral until he finally sees her. Can scent her and check her over to make sure she's whole and healthy and real in his arms. He did freak out a bit about how much weight she lost because she was going through her own borderline feral moment in her cell. She would bite anyone who came near her and refused to leave the very barebones nest she made under the bed for anything other than the bathroom. Her heightened senses kept picking up the faintest trace of Jake's scent and her omega would curl up in pain, not understanding why she couldn't be with him. She was so stressed she couldn't sleep, couldn't keep any food down. She just needed to see Jake.
They're both hyper vigilant from that point on. Jake is suspicious of Simmons if only for his part in Sherry's childhood of being a science experiment. And he's twitchy too. Wont go more than a few feet from her at any given time, always watching her six. And Sherry is making rookie mistakes because she's so worried about him. She has a healing factor, she can walk away from almost anything. Jake makes one wrong move and she's lost him forever. So she hoards ammo and medical supplies, doing what she can to make sure they're never defenseless.
After everything settles down and Jake meets Leon and Claire and Chris for real, he'll apologize, begrudgingly, for how he reacted to all of them. Once they realize that Jake and Sherry were a scent match in the middle of forming a mate bond (unbeknownst to them) before they were traumatically ripped away from each other and separated for 6months, it becomes a little clearer why Jake was one wrong move away from tearing someone's throat out with his teeth. A situation like that would kill any other couple, or at least leave them mentally destroyed beyond repair. Being a little extra aggressive to strangers is more than fair considering what they went through, so there's no hard feelings. Leon honestly already liked Jake since the moment he risked his life to save Sherry the first time they met.
Jake and Sherry both spent almost their entire lives suppressing their instincts. As a result, after they are finally free and whole, they tend to sometimes make decisions without a ton of rational thought behind them. Just going off of: "my instincts say I need to be doing this so I'm doing it." The strangest of these situations is when Jake stumbles upon the isolated medical ward that Piers is in. He took one step in the room and something clicked. He staunchly refused to leave Piers after that. No one even knows where Jake is for a while until Chris finds him sitting at Piers bedside closest to the door, gun on his hip. It's like he's guarding him. Chris can't get him to leave or explain what's happening and he's worried so he calls Sherry.
She takes one step into the room, inhales, and she understands. Piers is theirs too, their beta. He had the scent patch on the few times they met in the field. They hadn't realized, and they doubted Piers did either though he wasn't awake to confirm that.
Betas are the glue of a pack, having the traits of both alphas and omegas. They are fiercely loyal to their pack, willing to die to defend it. Betas are genetically predisposed to be warriors, the defenders of the pack. If alphas are the sword then their betas are the shield. Betas need something to protect and someone to lead them, it's why packs and bonds are so essential to them. Similarly, Alphas and Omegas need a beta in their lives, whether they are pack or just a trusted friend. They balance the two extremes of both alpha and omegan natures. And Jake and Sherry had just found theirs. So they stay with him.
Piers is still really fucked up, honestly it's a surprise his scent was even still there with how close to death he was. The doctors weren't even going to take him in, planning to go by standard procedure to dispose of a soldier turned BOW. Chris ensured that that would never happen but it didn't stop the snarl that crossed Jake's face or the growl Sherry let out after hearing that.
So the days pass, Jake donating as much blood as he physically can so Rebecca can look through to see if she can create a treatment for Piers' specific C-Virus strand. And Sherry fusses and frets over piers, making sure he's comfortable and feels safe. She doesn't realize she's nesting, still unfamiliar with most of the terminology, just going with what feels right to her. She talks to Piers, even though the doctors doubt he can hear her. She introduces herself (and Jake who refuses to speak to piers until he can snipe back at him like he did before), she tells him stories, bits and pieces of her life and how she ended up here. How she knows that he is meant to be in their lives so that means he has to get better. Sometimes she sings when she's had a rough day while Jake sits next to piers and watches the door, a silent guard dog for the people he loves most.
When Rebecca does develop a cure from a combination of Jake's blood and Sherry's G-virus strain, Piers wakes up smiling. Jake and Sherry's combined scent has saturated the room so fully that he already knows without a doubt that he had found his mates and that he was safe.
Jake immediately scolds him for pulling such a stupid stunt while Sherry hugs him and cries. It's like they had known each other all their lives, pieces fitting together seamlessly.

There's so much more of this universe floating in my head too tbh. Like how all the sub packs kind of become one big family with Chris as pack alpha and Leon as pack omega. Or piers being Chris's beta by choice not by scent match or anything and being the one to bring him back to earth after edonia until he could get to Leon. Also being an alpha/omega of alpha/beta pair isn't necessarily romantic, it can def be platonic or familial. Like before Chris, Claire was Leon's alpha even tho there's no romance there. I also think DSO and las plagas really fucked with Leon's omega and there could be a lot you can do with that. I also love the idea that no matter how many scent patches or suppressors he takes, smth about Leon draws the attention of every alpha and beta in the area to want to help him lol. Like Ada and Luis and Annette and Sasha and even the damn merchant in Spain. They all just sense an omega in distress and try to fix it even if it's kind of counter intuitive lol. Also love omega Ashley and that's why she trusted Leon so quick and why he specifically was sent on that mission.
I'm also not 100% sold on wesker being omega but I put it in here for now. I also can't decide if I like Carlos better as Jill's beta or her omega tbh.
