It's All About Having Fun - So this picture is about 7 years old now. I found it today while looking through some old files. I never uploaded it - I remember that night perfectly, it was the first time I had been out with my 5Dmkii, to the train graveyard, which was one of my favourite locations back in the day. We had finished up for the night and someone had a sparkler in their bag, and we decided to do one last shot for the fun of it. I loved the image, I really did but I never uploaded it because it didn't follow the aesthetics of the rest of my work. I've never uploaded a photo just because, I don't really upload fails or attempts. I just upload the finished product that i'm 100% happy with. I now wish I had uploaded it. It's not a bad photo, and the story behind it is good too. There was recently a bit of a debate between a few light painters about whether or not light painting should be fun or serious. I've experienced both sides of it. In my experience there is a time for fun, and there is a time for seriousness. Depending on the location usually dictates which one is appropriate. But even the serious stuff is fun in itself or I wouldn't be doing it, but the stuff that produces physical smiles and laughs all round is just good for everyone and a good way to finish a shoot. Sometimes a beautiful masterpiece can be born from a mistake, a fluke or a little bit of fun. The fact there is no rules in light painting is what I think makes it great. I have a few other photos from way back that I might also share with a story or two, such a my first wire wool spin, and my first orb. Enjoy your light painting folks! #lightpainting #lpp #lpwa #noctography #trains #urbanexploring #urbex #sparklers #stars #startrails #abandoned #decay
