He never thought he could make Shiro cry.

At least not until now.

They were fighting about something. They were always fighting about something. Sometimes they would change it up fight about nothing.

What they were fighting about isn't really important because it stopped matter ten minutes in. When Shiro's face crumpled like a piece of paper.

He wasn't trying to make Shiro cry. He wasn't sure what he was even trying to do. They were screaming at each other, voices raised as they followed each other into the kitchen.

Jean-Paul didn't remember what Shiro said to make him so angry. He couldn't even pin it down on anything specific.

Jean-Paul had a temper and it didn't take much to set it off. A misspoken word, one wrong look, a sharp change in tone and his mood would change in an instant.

Jean-Paul also wasn't sure what he said in relation to Shiro's words, but he knew they must have been bad.

For Shiro's faced crumpled, his face turned a bright shade of pink, and tears welled in his eyes.

Shiro often got angry with him. Shouting back, swearing, calling him a name (or two).

Jean-Paul wasn't innocent in that regard. He would curse and shout too, when they got like this.

If they were really mad at each other they'd got to the front of the mansion and actually fight. Throwing flames, bursts of light punches. Kicking and throwing each other around, until they were too exhausted to go on and forgot what they were fighting about.

Guilt squirmed in Jean-Paul's chest as Shiro quickly lifted his hand to wipe the tears from his cheeks and Jean-Paul rushed over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Shiro, I'm sorr--"

"Don't touch me!" Shiro's shoulder burst into flames and Jean-Paul's reflexes are just quick enough to stop his fingers from getting burnt.

"Shiro, I didn't--!"

"I said get away from me!" Then flames rise higher.

As the smoke waft up in the air, it reached the smoke alarm, which began to wail.

BEEP.

BEEP.

BEEP.

The sprinklers sensed the heat and water sprays across the kitchen. Dripping puddles onto the floor. Soaking the counters. Drenching the bread.

"What is going on in there!" Someone shouted as the fire alarm began to blare.

Jean-Paul and Shiro said nothing. They just stared at each other.

Jean-Paul backed away slowly, as Shiro tried to suck snot back into his nose and cleared his face of a final tear.
