i know i keep asking questions about your selfship au and i am SO sorry for that but i’m BURNING with curiosity and i have to ask how eros feels about dottore in your au? i know you don’t really have an interest in any other genshin characters so maybe it’s not something you’ve thought about/care about but if you have then i’d love to know!!
Hi, hi! It’s okay, I like the questions! 🙂↕️ I personally find Dottore’s character very compelling and interesting—mostly for the segments bit. The concept’s just so awesome, like, they actually cooked with that. But I took one good look at Pantalone and my brain decided that I should focus on this guy alone. 😭 Still! Dottore being cool and all—that’s how I’d think of him as a character, but as for my yumesona’s thoughts… Naturally, he’d agree with Dottore’s ends, but heavily disagree with the means.
I mean, Eros—regardless of whether or not he’s a Matra—thinks that power is a fickle concept. He’s just as skeptical of the Heavenly Principles. I should point out that I… Haven’t dabbled into the lore for a long while now, but I— think that the HP acts as some sort of “necessary evil” in a way…? Correct me if I’m wrong. But generally speaking, anything rigid and authoritarian is not something Eros would agree with.
Going back, Eros would think that Zandik’s intelligence is undeniable, and respects it. It’s compelling, but the kind of compelling where Eros would prefer to observe it from a distance. He understands that Zandik pays heed to humanity’s potential, albeit in an unconventional, unethical way… Like I said, he gets the ends, does not agree with the means.
Eros believes in human dignity as a legal and moral foundation—hell, it even gets to a point where humans in general would have his loyalty over his own superiors or the institution he serves. That’s why he’s so skeptical of the HP and its rigidness. Governing bodies are meant to serve its constituents, and therefore, must act like it. That said, Zandik’s methods (against said bodies) are just too radical and lead to excessive damage. Eros would respect the criticality of his sentiments (or even agree with them to some extent), but never the technique. Although I must say, Eros might want to look deep into Dottore’s history in the Akademiya had it been possible.
If anything, Eros would treat him more like a case study than anything else. HAHAHA Eros is not exactly fearful of him or anyone—just super critical of it when given the chance to scrutinize them in depth.
I’m not exactly sure if it’s possible for them to meet. But I will have to think about that possibility now that you’ve asked me. Generally, still, this is the very gist of Eros’ thoughts on Dottore. HAHAHAHA
