I don’t think enough people understand that just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist. :T
For the record, here my take on the pro shop vs anti ship nonsense
1. You may never, ever, EVER! Tell someone to hurt themselves or threaten them over a fictional ship. I don’t care if it’s the most nasty contro thing in the world. You may never harass someone over fiction. Ever.
2. Everyone should tag their ships and art appropriately as to not trigger sensitive people. Sensitive people should make sure to filter that stuff out and avoid. It’s not hard.
3. No one is required to justify their ship. Ever, not for any reason. It’s not real. I don’t wanna hear it from the anti shippers, it’s not real period. It shouldn’t matter, it only matters cause you’re making it matter. (P.S no one should have to share personal info on their mental issues and trauma to get you off their ass)
4. People who do have contro ships should at the very least have some form of self awareness. Along with the proper tags, you need to acknowledge that it wouldn’t work in real life and try not to romanticize it too much. I’m sure y’all mean no harm but it’s important. Ship with a grain of salt.
5.if you’re making cope art, it make be in your best interest to keep it somewhat private. I’m just saying for the greater good. If other people wanna use it to cope then maybe share it in a private space online. Cause you don’t wanna just send it all out in the open, (again be mindful of the sensitives, they have valid feelings like you)
6. I think we have a bigger problem on our hands if the children of today are so feeble and stupid that they seriously can’t tell the difference between fiction and reality. We need to work on fixing that.
7. If you’re so concerned for children who have suffered abuse, you’re better off volunteering for them and donating to charity, maybe make your own charity since your so passionate. I think you have better things to do than attack random coping artists. Stop getting worked up over shit that’s not real and focus on stuff that is!
8. The fact that some pro shippers are rude and bullies online doesn’t invalidate them as a whole. The fact that Anti shippers are also nasty online doesn’t invalidate them as a whole either. That’s not a valid argument. The fact that some are rude sometimes doesn’t prove the whole argument was wrong. That’s like an ad hominem argument.
Speaking of logical fallacies, here some I keep seeing that y’all should stop
