background: you and bakugo have been dating for months now, most days have been easier than most but you both preserved through it all. until one day you discovered a new side within yourself, your life changed in such little time. you now fight to save japan remaining anonymous, everyday gets easier keeping both sides of yourself separated. but can you be able to salvage your relationship without honesty?

TWO. SOLO?

The streets were busy especially since it was a friday, you were zipping through with your webs as you took down the final criminal you came across for the night. even with eyes on you, it all went by so fast, you were swift with your movements that it came across as unpredictable to enemies.

you quickly moved to the wall as you jumped yourself into the air as you webbed the criminals into a webbed cocoon hanging from the streetlights. “what the fuc-“ before one of the men could finish their harsh words you zipped his mouth shut with your web, there was no doubt they were even more pissed but you didn’t care.

as soon as the police sirens became clearer you zipped out of the scene quickly, as the men’s grunts from your webbing became a distant memory. you quickly swinged into your apartment as you opened the window making it as your entrance, as soon as you layed down peace slowly turned into annoyance as vibrations came from your pockets.

your eyes widened a bit from seeing the police actively investigating whom was behind the recent detain, although you were fully on the side of justice you weren’t signed by the government which made you more cautious. “it’s fine i’ll just lay low a while use less webbing, i’ll still be out there but just silently.. carefully.” you tried your best to tell yourself comforting words to hopefully calm down your nerves but every word that spilled made your senses more alert than usual.

to get your mind off the news backlash, you decided to take a shower maybe the feeling of your body being lavished will smooth your senses, you made your way into the bathroom as you stripped yourself fully entering the shower. the feeling of the water washing down your back as you closed your tired eyes, the feeling as quickly interrupted as the water made its way to your fresh scars on your lower back. you hissed in pain as you shifted in the shower letting the water not aim towards your scars.

you turned the handle letting the water sink into the drain, as you zoned out for a moment. quickly brought yourself back to reality as you felt the lingering pain of your scars, you exited the shower letting your towels fully wrap your body, once you dried and quickly dressed you applied the overdue proper care for your injuries. “can’t let kats see this. if he finds this he will get suspicious..” you quickly bandaged yourself until your face grew pale from getting the notification from your phone. you picked up your phone once more as you saw texts from mina and kats, your gut told you everything you needed to know about what the conversations consisted of but you chose to walk in blind anyway.

you laughed a bit at mina’s texts, you expected this type of reaction fully from her considering how her imagination is beyond your comprehension. you still amused her for a while, letting her keep her conspiracies, whilst she was actually texting the “vigilante” herself. your face then shifted you swallowed the word “vigilante.” that was the opposite of where you stood whilst the internet was framing you as the enemy of justice, you heart sank down to your feet where japan now knows you as a vigilante rather than a hero. until you quickly picked yourself up to text katsuki preparing for his input with the recent news.

by the time it was midnight you were zipping around japan laying in the shadows, being paranoid of cameras flashing at you for sightings. luckily you were masked head to toe but it only made you more suspicious than not, as you roamed you noticed yet another robbery. you zipped into the scene as you crawled on the ceiling watching the robbers be completely unaware of your presence.

by the time they turned around with cash and jewelry in their arms you punched one of them in the face as one of them quickly grabbed you by the leg before you lounged yourself in the air, you let out a yelp from the sudden movement as you threw webs at his eyes, as the his duo picked up his pistol attempting to shoot you.

you flipped towards him as your hands quickly moved webbing his feet to the ground permanently whilst webbing the weapon to the ceiling. you watched as one of them struggled, fully being proud of yourself from a successful night until your body felt weak your eyes widened with you lost sense of balance. you hissed in pain as you placed your hand on your stomach only to be met with a shocking amount of blood, you fell on your knees as you applied pressure to your stomach as the blood continued to spread. you turned to see one of the criminals carrying a gun as he attempted to shoot another bullet only to not be able to shoot another considering that was his last and only shot.

you winced in pain “how unlucky am i this cannot be happening..i’m supposed to get home. i need to get back…home.” your body felt immense pain and pressure as your luck quickly became nonexistent from the cops arriving the scene. you cursed yourself as you forced yourself on your feet, drowning out the cops distant voices as you raised your hand to wip out of the scene with your web shooters, you suddenly winced upon the movement.

moments after cops flooded the area making their way to the scene, you cursed under your breath watching it all unfold, the cops aimed their gun towards you “freeze vigilante!” you turned around as you kept your hands up.

“have your hands up where we can see them!” you made your way slowly to the cops keeping your hands up in the process, until a man came over with glasses, he had green hair and yellow streaks on his hair. he made his way over ordering the cops to not aim weapons at you. “she’s with me. drop your weapons or face the consequences with my agency.” the officers nodded as they put their guns away, your expressed changed from worry to surprise and mix of confusion.

by the time the cops took the criminals you detained away, you successfully were able to patch up your wounds as they hurried you to the nearest hospital. despite their efforts of telling you to take off your mask, you declined every reason they came up with. now your laying in he hospital bed whilst the mystery man whom saved your ass is sitting near you, “my names Mirai Sasaki. it’s no coincidence we crossed paths.” he reached into his pocket as he picked up his business card placing it into your hand. “when you are ready contact me. we have lots to discuss spider woman.” as he got up and exited the room leaving you with many questions and little answers.

ONE. PROMISE

You panicked when katsuki left you on read, scrambling through your apartment hiding your suit and gadgets or anything out of the ordinary. You quickly attempted to detach your web shooters from your wrists until you were interrupted by the sound of the front door, it was no question who was on the other side of the door.

bakugo knocked the door, no- BANGED the door many times more than you can count. by the time you reached the door letting him in he was already about to knock again. “What took so long?” he already stepped inside treating your apartment like his home, “had to clean up a bit before you barged in.” you replied with a hint of sarcasm, he scoffed at your reply as he bumped your shoulder but not hard enough to cause a bruise.

bakugo took a few steps forward from you until he broke the silence, “you never told me why you’re cooping up here.” his back faced you whilst your eyes focused on his tenseness, “just been sick, i’ll be back next week.” bakugo turned to you as his stare told you more than his words could say.

“and you didn’t text me this at all?” you could’ve sworn you heard a hint of a crack in his voice, it made your heart shatter into a million pieces. “it’s not like that katsuk-“ he quickly interrupted you as his vermillion eyes immediately stared at your e/cs. “so what is it supposed to be like? i’m here too yn, you don’t gotta go through shit by yourself. we’re a team godamnit.”

your breath hitched as he brought his hand up your cheek caressing your skin, “i’ll try to text you more, i’ll update you every second-“ he brought your face up gently making you finally look at him, you stopped speaking as you finally looked at him. “i’m not asking for changes overnight. nor i’m i asking for you to flood my messages, i just want you to lean on me once and while. let me carry what you swallow.” you didn’t respond quickly, thinking of what to say before speaking, your eyes first glanced at his eyes that showed empathy and care. letting him in would make everything harder, how would he react to the truth? would he take it easy or hard? maybe it’s better to keep pretending and show parts of yourself that you choose to let him see.

“your’e right, i promise ill try my best to lean on you more baby.” bakugo’s eyes opened slightly upon you calling him baby, the nickname never gets old for him, he then closed the distance between you both as he held you in his arms. the quiet atmosphere quickly became into a safe space, both of your breaths matched paces as you heard the steady beat of his heart while feeling yours.

“congrats to todoroki climbing up the ranks in number 2!” ejiro yelled out excitedly, congratulating todoroki. everyone clapped giving out their congrats as todoroki fixed himself up to give his speech after mina and half of the class begged him too.

“to be honest with you all, i never thought i would make it to the number 2 spot. success is always in my mind and im aware life is full of surprises, but i never thought i would surpass bakugo-“ as shoto gave out his speech in a emotionless tone he was quickly interrupted by bakugo who choked on his drink after hearing his name. bakugo yelled as he clutched his glass cup, with his amount of force he put into it the cup showed tiny cracks.

“If i focused more on the rankings you wouldn’t have the number two spot icy hot! quit being so cocky!” he scoffed at todoroki as he hesitated to continue yelling, as his heart was screaming at him not too.

As bakugo then took a breath his heart skipped a beat after seeing deku glancing at Uraraka, his expression was unreadable but jealousy wouldn’t be what he would admit aloud. he noticed dekus eyes lightened as he stared, the same eyes he gave him “he always does that, it has no meaning.” bakugo kept reminding himself repeatedly whilst pushing down his thoughts with alcohol.

kirishima looked over to bakugo and nudged him by the shoulder, bakugo jolted and gave him a death glare. “you okay man? you looked so out of it-“ kirishima attempted to carefully say his concerns until bakugo shut it down immediately, not wanting to go over his vulnerability.

“i’m fine shitty hair.” bakugo said nonchalantly, kirishima still didn’t buy it but didn’t want to nudge him anymore that he has.

the conversation drifted away as the only sound filling in the room was laughter, rather than bakugos loud thoughts. everyone chatted about recent patrols, their current rankings and accomplishments. the moment felt so fast as one moment they all exchanged hellos to the next second they all wondered when they will see eachother again.

“i’ll cover the bill.” todoroki offered with zero hesitation before anyone could as Iida then spoke up “you mustn’t! this meeting only took place to celebrate your ranking, it would be inappropriate to make you pay.” iida pushed his glasses back as he tried to set conditions where the class would formally agree too.

Kaminari then placed his arms around todorokis shoulder as a huge smirk grew on his face “chill out guys i’ll pay the bill-“ Jiro interrupted by her sudden burst of laughter, “no offense dude but i doubt you even have cash on you.”

Kaminari pouted as he quickly surrendered by the fact that he knew deep down he had zero cash on him, the class then agreed to splitting the bill despite iidas bickering about it being improper for todoroki to pay.

the heros exchanged their goodbyes, and even their schedules for patrols. after Mina and kirishima begging bakugo to drive them home, out of annoyance he agreed so they would stop whining.

izuku put his backpack on as he then took his suitcase that carried his new hero suit bakugo gifted him, he took a deep breath as he was about to take the route to his apartment before bakugo caught his attention with his hand on his shoulder.

izuku jolted in surprise as he later blushed out of embarrassment, “Kacchan! sorry i didn’t see you.” izuku scratched his head awkwardly, as he clutched the handle of his suitcase tighter by his hands developing sweat from his nerves.

“need a ride home?” bakugo stuffed his hands deep in his pockets, as he fidgeted his keys in his left pocket. izukus eyes lightened at his question as he thought for a moment on his decision, “i’ll be okay, i’ll just take the bus.” izuku smiled at bakugo, the blonde grunted in response as the air filled with comfortable silence.

“it was nice seeing you, maybe we can meet up again sometime soon!” izuku smiled at him as bakugo stayed silent but his red eyes said everything. izuku fixed himself up as he vanished into the crowd, bakugo stayed in the same position where izuku left him silently hoping he would come back for him.

bakugo kept his hand frozen in place as he waved goodbye, without realizing his vision began to blur as he felt tears falling. “you were supposed to be where i could reach you, who do i reach for now?” bakugo said to himself silently as he attempted to wipe his tears from creating more.

Mina and kirishima were waiting for bakugo in his car, by the time bakugo arrived the atmosphere shifted morbidly. Both tried to cheer up the blonde but failed more times they could count, in attempt to block out Mina and kirishima bakugo turned on the Aux as he let the environment hear only music than his vulnerability.

With izuku, he walked through the streets making a mental note of when the bus leaves so he doesn’t miss it. while being lost in his thoughts he hadn’t noticed whom was in front of him, the girl who he claimed is his hero. He blushed seeing Uraraka, he was prepared to run, hide even but remembered bakugo’s words it encouraged him to take his first steps to his special person.

“oh hey deku!” Uraraka was surprised and flustered for not noticing deku sooner, deku remained silent as his words were stuck in his throat. for a moment both of them didn’t exchange any words until deku got the courage too “it’s now or never.” he kept repeating to himself.

“do you want me to walk you?” deku scratched the back of his head awkwardly as his hands grew sweaty, Uraraka smiled at his awkwardness as she agreed. her focus shifted as she saw a familiar black car pass by the streets as she made eye contact with a blonde.

bakugo drove past the scene immediately noticing both of them, the smallest peak made his heart drop. his eyes once looked so bright look empty as ever, bakugo then picked up the speed as he left his heart with his hero. who he hoped saw him as his hero.

izuku didn’t notice the car at first glance while he was walking with Uraraka, as they reached the bus stop izuku caught his eye on bakugo in a cologne ad that was playing on the big screen in the city.

in that moment everything came back to him, as if the universe told him the right answer. when he left he didn’t notice bakugo’s soft cries, or his subtle hints of how he truly felt. from this day forward izuku knew, that now he still had a lot to learn about feelings and the ideology of love.

without thinking izuku moved, his body moved on its own it reminded him of his middle school days. But the similarities were how izuku always ran to bakugo never letting either one of them feel separated. the boy started to run with his heart yelling and his mind yearning for closure.

“kacchan, if only i knew sooner.. if only i wasn’t so afraid-“ izuku yelled as he ran like his life depended on it, he began loosing breath after each sentence as he revealed his feelings to the empty streets filling with heavy rain.

“it’s you. it’s always been you kacchan you’re my hero, you’re the person i want to hold onto.” izuku ran as his breathing became inconsistent, his eyes widened as he saw bakugo’s car. he bolted forward feeling the air through his hair and the rain kissing him.

izuku reached his hand praying, hoping bakugo would come he wanted to reach for him. midway through the path he was met with a huge puddle izuku slipped as he hissed in pain, as he watched both of them part ways.

“kacchan..” izuku said softly to himself accepting defeat as the rain fell over him. from this moment forward he realized he too hated the rain.
