only the strong, survive

I’m writing this with a heavy heart because it will be the last post that I post because unfortunately, I’m leaving the group.

I’m sure you could all tell that I was losing the inspiration for my characters. Today was a tough day for me as well as I lost my uncle to cancer this morning but I don’t want you all to think that this is a last minute decision, I have been thinking this for awhile and today was when I finally had the mind to actually do it. I’ve loved this group and everyone in it.

I’ve had some amazing plots, been able to write with some amazing writers but I just don’t have the inspiration for my characters anymore. Perhaps I’ll come back in the future or maybe I won’t but right now I’m going to focus on my own project and my personal life.

[Flora] you think so? [Flora] hmmm, well… out of those ones I like the paisley print one best. [Flora] Top left. [Flora] Yeah, I’m free. Finley’s at his dad’s tonight though. Apparently there’s a game on, or something, I’m not really sure.

[Flora] can a tie be too blah?  [Flora] especially for a meeting… [Flora] If you want to stand out then wear a brightly patterned one!

“Everything is totally fine. I mean, I’m dead. And my career has just been shot in the face, but I’m like, so fine.”

“Hey, stop staring. I am not here.”

“Okay, so that’s it. My life is officially over.”

Lillian made her way over to the Grind to break up the dull day she’d had so far. Now that the guards were cleaned up after, she was ready to be anywhere else. Walking in she glanced around for a spot and took one near the counter, smiling at the man behind it. “Good afternoon.” she said with a nod. She turned in her chair and looked around at the sparse crowd in the shop, wondering who she could convince to buy something for her.

He squeezed her hand affectionately, and Flora felt such a rush inside her. Noah gave her butterflies, making her feel like a giddy teenager again. It was a wonderful feeling. She was almost overcome by his words, and her eyes filled up a little, her smile enough to keep back any actual tears. “I care about you too, Noah. So very much,” she gushed, “and I’d like this to turn into something more.” She laced her fingers into his across the table and smiled. “Finley thinks the world of you, and so do I.” She was cautious not to get too caught up in her feelings and say too much, but she gazed at Noah with an expression of such affection. 

Flora let Noah pull her in close, and she turned her face to catch his lips with hers in a gentle kiss. Finley was happily preoccupied with his game so she knew he wouldn’t walk in on them, not that she was in any way ashamed, just that it would be a lot for her son to take in all at once. “You’re too good to us, you know that?” She smiled as she spoke to him, enjoying the feeling of his hand pressed against her lower back. Letting out a gentle gasp, she giggled, “more for me to open? Can I open them now?” Flora gazed up at him, the most genuine smile on her face.

Caleb: I would suggest lamb medallions, with a light mint sauce and a frisée salad.

Caleb: Wait... do I know you?

Noah: that sounds delicious.

Noah: what is something I can add to the menu for spring time?

Noah: I don't want to do the same things as last year.
