genuinely no hate to the ppl who make/rb this genre of post but. with so much love: if you’re a young lesbian on this site and you relate to these posts… pls don’t take them too seriously or make them part of your personality. dating can be chill and casual and that’s a good thing. it’s less exciting than instant obsession, yes, but combined with healthy communication and other positive indicators, casual dating can be a good litmus test for: is this a person who can deal with their own emotions in a mature way? how does this person handle delayed gratification for my attention? (which is not owed to anyone just because they like you/you like them btw.) is this a person who tries to speed run the process of building trust and emotional intimacy by oversharing too much too soon and demanding my reaction/reassurance? is this a person who practices discernment, who is respectful of my autonomy AND values their own?

and btw, hookups are morally neutral. you can be a deep, loving, tender-hearted person and still enjoy casual sex. if you don’t, that’s fine! but it doesn’t make you better or more pure/romantic. sex is literally just an activity that people can do if they want and it means whatever they decide it means.
