“He told me I can’t grow my hair out any longer than his because it’ll hurt the ghost of his old hair’s feelings. I get what you mean.”

“no he isn’t.”

“You’re just saying that because you weren’t the one who got ditched for a dog. Even if it is a pretty cool dog.”

“no, but i’m just saying– this is why i don’t fuck with boys. boys are dumb. no offense.”

“No I’m definitely dumb. You should have seen Deokjun’s face when he asked me about the last time I was ever in school.”

“don’t get down on yourself over that, though. you’re not bad company.”

“Aw thanks. Lance doesn’t know what he’s missing.”

she smacked his shoulder, giving him her most withering glare. “i won’t cop to that, and if you go around spreading it, i’ll end you,” she threatened, though her gazed softened and she grumbled to herself, pulling him closer and forcibly wrapping his arms around her so she could cuddle up against him. “i hate you.”

Noah laughed as soon as he felt her hand against his shoulder. “Shut up,” he said, still laughing as he tightened his arms around her and leaning in to where her head now rest against his shoulder. “You looove me,” he teased like he had a million times before, never thinking seriously about his words. 

“No– then you’d have to sleep at least somewhat close to Lance, and you’re mad at him, remember?” she pointed out. “the obvious solution is you just hang on to me while we sleep. i get your furnace warmth and we both get blankets. duh.”

"I could sleep by Duck and Tommy,” he repeated, knowing it was useless the first time he said it. Noah looked back up at Seola, his face breaking out into his usual shit-eating grin. “You like snuggling,” he sing-songed. “Don’t lie.”

“well, uh, i’m pretty sure it was nothing personal. dogs are generally more agreeable than people, and i know that in general, i would choose playing with a dog over talking to a person any day of the week.”

“Yeah, you’re right about that, I guess. Fish is great, I’d probably ditch me to hangout with him too.”

“Did he eat your food or something?”

“He said he would rather spend his dumb prom with Fish instead of with me.”

“…i just saw him five minutes ago?”

“I didn’t. He’s like a ghost, but instead of me being the only person who can see him, it’s the other way around and all of you guys still can.”

“what do you think i am, his mom?”

“No, but I think you’re someone that signs his paychecks. Probably.”

“and people call girls over dramatic– what’d he even do?”

“He left me. Now are you still gonna keep calling me overdramatic?”

“sounds fake i don’t buy it you’re fake,” hyo announced loudly. “lance has been sad and mopey and it’s your fault so you better fix it.”

“No.” he insisted sadly. “Lance would rather hangout with your dog than even be near me anymore, that was his choice.”

“you….i think. i mean, i said that to your face, so probably you.”

“Aight. But you look like a Lego set that no one knew when to stop building.”

“noah, please. i’ll win you back.”
