â SUMMARY
Noahâs biological parents were killed by hunters when in their raven forms one afternoon, though Noah was only a toddler when it happened and never learned what really happened to them - or even that they (or he) was a shifter at all.
He was raised by a loving human family just outside of Boston, MA. He followed in his fatherâs footsteps to study law and eventually become a lawyer.
Met Nia Faulkner by happenstance at the airport bar one night when inclement weather stranded them, and they had immediate chemistry together. They decided they should get together when they were both back in town and ended up seeing one another for the next few years to come. He had started to think a future, a family, was possible with her.
It was a car accident that nearly ended his life before it had even fully began. He would have died from his injuries if it werenât for the actions of a vampire who had witnessed the accident and made a split second decision to turn him rather than let him die.
Thomas Wilson took him under his wing from that day forward, supporting the young vampire in his transition despite the unpredictable circumstances. But in the days following, all Noah could think about, aside from the thirst for blood that seemed never ending, was Nia.
He slipped away one night despite Thomasâs urging that it would be a mistake to be out in public. Of course, he only proved Thomas right. What little composure heâd managed to pull together was completely lost when the overpowering scent of her blood hit him, and he attacked her.
When he managed to flee before he killed her (or, more likely, she killed him), he effectively disappeared. The shame of the whole ordeal kept him in hiding for decades while he learned to control his bloodlust and adapt to his new life.
Paradisus is his fresh start, a new beginning in a place that might be a little more forgiving.
â HEADCANONS
Noah still doesnât fully trust his control over his bloodlust and tries to stay out of crowds to not risk a slip up
Heâs particularly sensitive and guarded around witches after what happened with Nia and learning the allure of their blood is strong
Learning on the fly has become his go to state. Heâs become somewhat familiar with the vampire livelihood (since he had no choice in the matter) but doesnât really understand the royal hierarchy and relations between them. As far as shifters and witches go, his knowledge is limited.
â CONNECTIONS
PIECES OF ME { Nia Faulkner } ; Once she was his entire future, now sheâs little more than a stranger. After that night where heâd made his biggest mistake seeking her out, heâs hardly allowed himself to think of her - and certainly not to look for her. Sheâs better off without him.Â
TWO BIRDS OF A FEATHER { Ruby Faulkner } ; The daughter heâd always wanted but never knew he had, Ruby is the picture of his past. Sheâs a raven shifter - a gene she got from him - and one now he wishes he still had so that he might be able to connect with her in a different way than just random strangers passing by.Â
SALVATION OR DAMNATION? { Thomas Wilson } ; He saved his life but cursed him all the same. Noah knows he owes Thomas everything, but there is still that hint of resentment that he holds inside for the man. He mightâve been better off dead.Â
WHAT IF IâM FAR FROM HOME? { Kane Martin } ; Noah has an older brother, several years older than him when their parents passed. They were separated when put into the system, but his brother was old enough to know their family history. Theyâve lived as a raven shifter and been looking for Noah over the years - and now they just so happen to have ended up in the same place.
SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE { OPEN, vampires; Mei Lian Lui, Cicely Adler } ; Thomas wasnât the only one around to help Noah get through the first few decades of being a vampire. These vampires also had a hand in keeping Noah in line, one way or another.Â
â FULL BIO
Noah grew up only with the briefest of memories of his biological parents. If pressed hard enough, he might recall strange tales of birds, of magic. But in the end, those were nothing but fairytales, whispered words spoken in the ears of children to bring sparkles to their eyes. There was no such thing as magic, or even of the tooth fairy or any of those other stories parents tried to convince children of. One day they were there, and the next they werenât.
He never really knew the full story of what had happened that day. Just that his parents had gone out like they normally did and the next his elder brother was ushering him along by the hand with no real destination in mind. It was a blur, a whirlwind, ending up in the foster care system. But he was still rather young, and he was snatched up by the Pierce family and given anything he couldâve ever wanted from that point onwards. For all intents and purposes, he was a Pierce. Just a normal boy growing up just outside of Boston.
Becoming a shadow to his father, Noah wanted to be everything the man that was raising him was. He followed in every footstep, soaking up everything the man had to offer. It wasnât hard to see that Noah idolized him, going to college to study law and continue on to become a lawyer just as his father before him was.
It was hard work, there was no doubt about that - and after years practicing he decided to take a little time off to travel and see the world. He knew very little outside of Boston and the occasional beachy family vacations, so he was sure there was more to be seen. As luck would have it, his flight ended up getting delayed and he found himself stationed instead at the airport bar with no where to go any time soon.
That was when he met Nia Faulkner.
They had immediate chemistry, there was no other way to describe it when he reflects back on it now. Just two wayward travelers stuck at the airport bar due to inclement Boston weather. But he just knew he had to get to know her. So they set up a date - one that he was almost certain she wouldnât show up to - and the rest was history.
Truth be told, Noah had always wanted a family of his own, and the more time he spent with Nia the more that dream seemed possible. He could see a future together, maybe some kids - it seemed within reach for the first time.
Until it all slipped through his fingers.
He couldnât remember much of the accident. Icy road conditions and blowing snow had come together to produce precarious driving conditions and Noah had found himself caught up in the middle of it. The last thing he recalled were the flash of oncoming headlights, and then nothing but pain.
He shouldnât have lived. He didnât, not really. He wouldnât have if it hadnât been for the blood pressed to his lips, the transition initiated that both saved and damned his life in one fell swoop. All he could recall from that time onwards was the burning hunger that brewed within him. Despite it, with each passing day, all he could think of was Nia.
They told him no. They said he couldnât see anyone. But he had to. He had to know that she was okay - and that she knew he was as well. But in the end, managing to get away and find her had proven to be his biggest mistake. The moment he caught scent of her blood heâd all but lost the meager control heâd managed to pull together. The altercation between the newly turned vampire and the witch (so they said - she was a witch, and witches blood was practically a drug to them, to vampires), had ended with another near loss of life for either party. Heâd attacked her. Heâd attacked her.
The thought of what he couldâve done, what heâd almost done, was enough to send him running - away, away to anywhere but here. Anywhere but near those he cared about. Anywhere else.
It took decades before he felt he had any real grasp on controlling his thirst, and even now heâs not convinced he should be around others on any regular sort of basis. But heâs learning to get his life back, and when word of Paradisus hit his ears, it seemed like it could be a reprieve - a place where he could truly begin again.
