The Kaufmann house is an architectural design icon from the mid 20th century. Designed in the late 1940's by architect Richard Neutra, its clean lines and minimalist style has made it one of the most significant buildings of its time. Made famous by the 'Poolside Gossip' photo in 1970 by Slim Aarons, it was a real treat to stop by this property last week in person when in Palm Springs, especially after it had been displayed on the wall of my sister's former cafe in Geelong for a number of years.
