Just watched Netflix's The Dinosaurs episode 1
I was fully expecting it to be bad but ITS GOOD!????

It’s peak I’m afraid.
I’m sorry for doubting you The Dinosaurs… You were amazing.
The music and cinematography… it was GORGEOUS, I was invested all the way through.
They also give so many obscure species the spotlight for once it made me so happy seeing them.
please watch it. It was a great experience.
Ok so... My criticisms.
Some of the designs were... Not the best. Like the Allosaurus. That Allo design is pretty bad...
And this series does fall into the annoying "them vs us" trope if that makes sense? like, portraying reptiles and stuff as rivals to the dinosaurs or whatever like if it was a competition when every creature just served a specific niche in nature.
My BIGGEST complaint... that T-Rex and Ankylo fight was bull and made me irrationally mad. T-Rex would have absolutely lost that fight. So we got the T-Rex over-glazing I'm afraid... The Ankylo literally hits the rex in the ribs with its club and the rex is just... Completely fine???? WHAT???? So that was pretty freaking annoying.
BUT
Despite these...
This documentary was a GREAT step in the right direction compared to Life on our Planet. Which... Wasn't really good tbh... Seriously that "A Triceratops couldn't stand a chance against an adult T-rex" line made me SO MADDD. Wtf were the writers thinking???
