decided to participate last minute in artfight2026 so wish me luck doing 11 character sheets for my characters haha

just came across a new azutara fanfics and as a fellow (completely normal about it) sports fan and (even more completely normal about it) azula enjoyer, im now hooked

So i pretended to do this for anatomy and gesture drawing and called it a day

I've also been (very passively) working on the adult Azula design

Changed her hairstyle a bit more - no honor, no topknot - as well as her face to resemble her mother's

Gave her tanner skin, girlie is no longer a royal nor an aristocrat

I started by trying out different layout and shapes. I decided to go for bending/abilities as types; use ATK/DEF style "stats"; tags (northern water tribe, etc); grade/tier (wouldnt work at all but ITS FUN OKAY).

I'll put a good quote or joke on flavor, but i still dont know what to put as an ability (pokemon style attacks with type mana or plain card ability)

Then I try to take what i liked best about the first iterations and make them into colored versions to picture it better. My biggest shape & color inspiration is that big map poster? I tried more intricate frames and way to add a little color to the brown background the arrow is ATROCIOUS

Finally I started thinking about the symbols I'll use on the cards:

Big symbols for the Banner and the Type. The one im struggling with most is the avatar one; as of now my preference is the 3rd one

Smaller symbols to use on the card ability for the readibility

Rarity symbols. A friend gave me the idea of using Pai Sho tiles instead of the usual little gemstones

Thank you for reading me screaming into the ether I'll probably design make the final card in a way to support full-art and a overframe version, and put all the illustrations in it. If i get a little too into it, I'll even make "alternative art/showcase" for some of them
