disclaimer: ive never really used tumblr to post, let alone on the computer, so please forgive me for any unusual format choices..I'm trying my best

so the idea behind nmt-yarn is to record my progress on learning about crochet! i started a while ago, but was mostly in a practice mindset to help my stitches become more consistent. over time i also have picked up a little bit about different stitches and techniques, but this is in NO WAY a tutorial account (cause the point is learning hehe)

ALSO new addition but ive got an instagram now! its only crochet but you can hopefully commission me and also just see new works ive done!

hello tumblr!! im back again with another project that i decided to do for myself

recently i made three jellycat plushies! they were made for the public library near me as it’s been raining a LOT recently, and i wanted to show my appreciation for the workers and the facility :p

been a really long time since ive crocheted anything in all honesty, life really does just get in the way yk?

hi guys :) finally January is over, ive been extremely tired this past month

to help myself feel better, i crocheted a little bit for myself! i decided i wanted to make a little tomato hat for my sans plushie (huge undertale fan, hes my lil guy alongside my bear BB)

i find that if i add ear holes, its also a cute hat for pets! i’ll probably write the pattern for it later, but im honestly afraid of people who steal patterns (although ngl i find no one bothers w my account blessed LOL)

i made a lot of things since my last post! including making my own patterns for the first time!!

i made my own patterns for two of the skzoo characters! its dwaekki and puppym :) the patterns were for my friends whom i taught how to crochet (im working on a foxI.Ny for myself)

the bottom three pics were all xmas gifts! the pokeball was freehanded LOL

the clover patterns are from @/crochet_with_val_02 on tiktok

the marshmellow was by @/chubbiesbyash on YT

and the turtle is by @/kateyesimaginings on IG (the same as the one i made in a previous post)

this time it isnt work ive done recently but things ive done that i haven’t posted on here (but i have on my crochet instagram! go check it out on my pinned post if youd like)

this time its a jack skellington and a cinamonroll headband i made for one of my teachers’ kid!

the headband was freehanded, although since ive made so many (including a second miffy and pochacco one), i was thinking about making and releasing a free pattern! that would be quite fun

back with another dump of things ive made since the last post! (id say things ive made recently but some of them arent that recent…)

either way, ive done some work! i have finals coming up and ive been lowkey swamped, but id like to get this out before i go on break since ill be leaving my country for vacation :) hopefully i will also get some nice pics even tho this is a crochet account..

anyways im getting sidetracked :p i made a BUNCH of mini christmas hats (pattern by me!) for my flute section:) we had them on our instruments while playing our xmas concert

as well as a tiny turtle for my friend! it was for their birthday LOL pattern by @/kateyesimaginings on IG

finally i free handed a snoopy and wood stock set also for a friend :p

life gets in the way unfortunately!

but ive been crocheting and i started selling some stuff too! for fall ive made some pumpkins (regular AND emo ones LOL) and i made a lotttt of ghosts

i know they arent the best but i kept forgetting to take pics of them before i gave them away LOL

this isnt crochet but school started back up and ive got practice like everyday 😅 even less time to post…

ive also made a crab and a snoopy!

i learned after i made the crab that i actually did the back of it inside out (dont ask i genuinely cant tell ya how bad i messed up to turn it inside out 🥲) i ended up giving it to my friend anyways but i plan on making a better one for them later…

i also made the snoopy for my friend as a way to get introduced to sewing parts together (ive found it really dont like sewing w darning needles, but i like “sewing” with my hook a lot!)

ive never been fully happy with how they both turned out and really would like to redo both of them to feel better about it

this whale bag pattern was my first ever time following a pattern! it was back in november-december 2023ish but i ended up making five in total :)

(one turned out too long because i couldnt count rows for the first time, its very obvious LMAO)

i adore the blue color though, i even sent one out to my friend in atlanta! (one went to my sister, thats why theres 3 in the last pic)

once i figured out just how fast crochet was (i tried knitting a loooong time ago im p sure im not cut for it), i immediately had to make something for my bear, his name is BB :)

red is a good look on him and it was during the colder months..i need to make more for him bc hes my pride n joy <3

heres a collection of some of my earliest practice "works"!

the very small, one row blue piece was my very first attempt with crochet, I hadn't watched a single basics tutorial about crochet and tried just jumping it (didn't work bc I had no idea i had to turn the yarn lol)

it's missing most of my other rectangular and square pieces, I used to just do big swatches of the same kinda stitches and then switch back and forth between two types to build muscle memory
