Engagement: Ann & Brian
When I got into this business, I expected to connect with a lot of new people as my business grew. What I didn't anticipate was the possibility of reconnecting with old friends through my photography and being able to share my talent with them.
Ann and I have known each other for almost twenty years. We first met at the 1996 Iowa All-State Music Festival where we both played tenor saxophone in the All-State Band. We continued to see each other annually at All-State with Ann leading our group of tenor saxophones and me bringing up the rear (she was and still is much better on saxophone than I ever could have hoped to be). After high school, we lost touch with each other as we headed off to college but eventually reconnected through Facebook where I learned she was teaching saxophone to college students.
As fate would have it, my old saxophone teacher at UNI retired a few years ago and Ann was hired to replace him. By this time I had started my photography business and one day Ann contacted me saying she had recently become engaged and was wondering if I was interested in taking the photos at her wedding.
We did an engagement session on the UNI campus last month and I got to see Ann for the first time in years and meet her fiancΓ© Brian, who also works at UNI as an IT Specialist. We had a gorgeous afternoon (perhaps a tad windy) to wander around campus and capture some great images. I had a great time getting to know both of them. There is a great chemistry between the two of them, and I can't wait to capture their special day later this month!
