In Super Mario RPG, there is a female Toad NPC in Rose Town who has, strangely, completely different reactions to the events of the game depending on whether she is facing southeast or northwest when Mario talks to her.

Top: after Geno comes to life and wanders off into the Forest Maze, talking to the Toad will have her mention that she saw Geno herself, even mentioning that he was a walking doll.

Bottom: however, if Mario talks to her when she is facing northwest instead, she will have the complete opposite reaction and say Mario "needs some help" for insinuating that dolls can walk.

As the NPC mostly looks to the southeast, the first interaction is very commonly experienced during gameplay, while the second one is much more obscure.
