Finally, finally a gig where she was actually getting paid. No more behind the scenes on low grade movies but now an actual sequel. She just couldn’t believe it. When the director yelled cut, Blue was thankful for the opportunity to keep running the scene–actually it had been her favorite scene of all of them. The two main characters seemed to have chemistry for it too, but it was the movie business after all. “Oh–no it’s all good, this is my favorite honestly i’m just happy to be here at all.” Blue joked with a soft laugh, shaking her head. “Sorry I should uh..go back to my spot.” She told him with a quick turn in the opposite direction.

she knew, of course, that there was always a chance she’d run into her ex. a big, big chance, in their tiny tiny town. but she didn’t expect it to be mere hours after she got back, before she could even think about what she would say. sorry didn’t seem like enough, but anything else felt gratuitous. “nick,” she breathed out, her heart thumping wildly in her chest. “uhm. not really, it’s a temporary visit. my mom, she’s.. it’s temporary.” she shifted uncomfortably in her stool, clearing her throat and trying to settle all her thoughts. “how’s your family? it’s been.. years.” her fault, of course. she’d left a letter in his mailbox and was gone before he’d woken up, knowing that she couldn’t face a real break up with him. she’d been wanting to get out of their hometown for as long as she could remember, and he was the only one that convince her to stay. 

there was a lot that gabe would do for his sister, especially in the midst of her crazy last-minute wedding problems, but being on time was something he never did. even with a deadline like a flight, it would just never happen. so maybe he cruised up to julia’s house a few minutes - twenty minutes- late, it wasn’t really that big of a deal. “woah,” he laughed lightly, glancing over at the girl he had only seen in photos for a few years now. “seems like i’m doing better than you. little tense, are ya?” he shifted into gear, heading off to their destination. “you can’t say no to lily. especially not now, god she’d go ballistic. i really don’t want to see her rain down hellfire, are you willing to deal with that?”

it had been three long years since ophelia last stepped foot in her hometown, yet it seemed like nothing had changed. the old run down house on the corner of her block was the same, the old lady who yelled at the kids playing basketball was the same, the store clerk with the creepy smile was the same. really the only thing different was her, and the man she was calling her boyfriend. the two had spent a long day on the road trying to get back to her home, and ophelia decided that the two needed a drink. they ended up at the one place in town she’d never been to, the bar down the road. ophelia headed straight up to the bar while her boyfriend finished his cigarette outside, settling into a well-used stool, and immediately froze when she looked at the man in front of her. “oh my god-”

“Listen,” Anakin started, smoothing back the thick head of hair he had as he leaned on the doorframe casually. “My brother’s an idiot for ditching your date, and you deserve to..have your needs taken care of.” He mused, raising his brows a bit. “My evening’s free for you though, always.”

alright. it was time. deep breath. it wasn’t hard - just some confrontation. it wasn’t jackie’s favorite thing to do, but one of her girls ( well, her best girl, that is ) was failing one of her classes and the principal had threatened to kick her off the team if she didn’t step up her game. jackie knew her girls - she knew they tried their hardest, and she also knew that this particular girl had been struggling with her dyslexia and the english class she was placed in was just too hard. so, jackie was now on her way to hailey’s english teacher’s classroom to talk. maybe if she explained the girl’s situation, he’d cut her some slack. maybe let her retake a test or something. 

a short knock on his closed door made jackie take another deep breath. sure, as a dance teacher and coach, she had no problem correcting girls if they made a mistake, but this felt different - she wasn’t the authority figure in this situation. it made her feel a little smaller. “sorry to bother you, i’m jackie o’connor, i teach dance — do you have a moment? it’s about one of your - sorry, our - students.”
