Just saw the interview where Curry Barker explained that it's totally possible to get a normal wish from the One Wish Willow, and I love the way they did that so much. The reason Obsession happened isn't because it's trying to twist Bear's desires into something evil. It's not even because he phrased his want wrong. Obsession happened because Bear got his hands on a magic item that could do anything in existence, and chose to force someone to fall in love with him, which is an inherently evil thing to do.

#and isn't it that the one wish willow understands your intention with the wish and doesn't necessarily try to twist it?#bc my immediate wish would be for me to get my original left eye back #and hopefully that wouldn't mean it lands in front of me or is squashed in my eye next to the prosthesis #i mean the socket reverts to how it was pre-accident with eyeball intact and working and seeing and all that #that's my go-to should i ever encounter a magic wishing item #anyway bear couldve wished for more confidence or a meet-cute. or to find the love of his life or something #instead he ruined that poor girl's life probably forever #and the thing is- the wish itself isn't the most outlandish thing in the world #plenty of people have passively wished for crushes to notice them or love them or whatever. probably without thinking of the implications #but the moment he realized her personality was changed entirely? a better person wouldve tried to reverse the wish immediately #but he's all 'no i can make this work. can i alter the wish? what's so bad about being with me?'#hell isn't hot enough. shit he couldve wished for personal improvement instead my god!#obsession
