Sky is a snide, sarcastic idiot with a warped sense of humor and a vocabulary that would make a sailor blush. He’s a bit of a know-it-all and likes to get into others’ business, but is truly good at heart, even if he isn’t the best at showing good intentions. He comes from a pride where all the members are named after things in nature (Ex: Rock, Cloud, River, etc.), and Sky earned his name for his bright blue eyes, which he inherited from his father King Ice. 

As the youngest son of the king (at least the youngest who isn’t still a cub), the duty of squire falls to him, and he can usually be found running messages back and forth between prides near his father’s territory. Because of his duties, Sky has had more than a few run-ins with Edge and his ever-growing group of following prides. Edge is a little more than insistent that the Amber Steppe join with his pride under the guise of a business deal. Edge has a tendency to make Sky’s entire pride very uncomfortable, so they are extremely hesitant, but none more so than Ice, who worries what might come of Sky should he get onto Edge’s bad side. 

While his father worries over him, Sky has thrown caution to the wind and is wandering around trying to catch the eye of Fade, Edge’s only son. Sky can almost sense the longing for more in the pale lion’s gaze and wants to bring him out of his shell and see what he’s all about. At first, Sky seemed to annoy Fade, frustrating and embarrassing him with his stupid jokes and absolutely terrible flirting. But over time, Fade seemed to grow more and more tolerant of Sky being around, and the two eventually do start seeing each other somewhat romantically. They generally have to sneak around, as Edge would much rather use Fade as a bargaining chip in his twisted deals, and Vanish would be far less than pleased to find her son frolicking around with some scruffy-looking kingdom lion. The situation is less than ideal, but the two have made it work. Together, they dream of running off somewhere far away, where they can live however they want, maybe even founding their own pride. 

Sky is basically Fade’s acting therapist, listening intently on the rare occasion that Fade decides to open up about how he feels about his family. Said talks usually consist of Fade talking how he’s sure his parents are disappointed in him and how he knows they prefer his sisters. Sky is no good at comforting anyone, but he will always be there to give his support. He hopes that one day Fade can be more open about who he actually is and will stop hiding himself. Sky likes how he actually is, so why can’t Fade like himself?

Fun Facts

Sky is often the butt of his older brothers’ jokes. He tries to laugh them off, but they really do bother him.

While he loves and respects his father, Sky has always been closer with his mother, Queen Forest. Forest is much more laid back and lenient than his father, and she lets him get away with things that his father generally would not allow him to do, sometimes even covering for him if he gets caught. 

He gets crushes easily, but almost never does anything about them. Fade is the first lion he’s actually tried to flirt with. 

Until the recent birth of his youngest siblings, Berry, Root, and Feather, Sky was suspected to be the last cub his parents would have.
