Needless Yearning

Anyways the concept is that Bruce, of course, isn’t their biological parent. Johnny!reader doesn’t feel anything towards the batfam besides neutralism. Reader lives with Bruce on paper, but they frequent at their old house in crime alley to be closer to the other greasers. Though being ignored is better than being beat on and screamed at, they couldn’t just abandon their friends like that and live life to the fullest without them.

Greasers and Socs are still a thing, and they still represent what they do in the books! Richer kids with no class and Poor kids who don’t either, in a way. The only difference is that since they’re in crime alley of all places, the Socs don’t bother them much at night. Why? Because one, it’s Red Hood’s territory, and two, the Greasers are under Red Hood’s protection. Some of them even have patches on their jackets to prove it.

Johnny!reader doesn’t know how to bring up the fact that Jason has saved them one too many times from getting jumped in the abandoned lot, and how the man brings them fresh food when they’re camping out there, just before they leaves for Ponyboy’s house. Reader almost thinks Jason believes they’re a random kid with a bad home life.

Jason always asks why they aren’t at home, and they only respond with a ‘my house is right around the corner’, it pisses him off but he knows how important it is to have an escape, even if that means continuing to live in bad conditions just to be with people you care for.

Reader has the most prominent patch out of them all, and all the greasers have small help buttons hidden on them that they never use. Only Ponyboy and Reader do, and that’s in situations where they know they’ll lose. Most of the time they just use Red Hood as a way to scare people off, putting their patches in obvious places like the shoulder, back, or chest area.

Sunshine x Grumpy has always been a fav dynamic, making it sapphic and adding on the neglectful batfam 🤌🤌🤌 (though, fair warning, im not super into writing yandre — minus the addams fam normal flavor of possessiveness and dramatics)

YES!! Honestly, all of my imagines are up for grabs unless I specifically tell people not to take inspo, I’d love to see others write about things that are based on my silly drabbles :)

And no worries about the yandere thing— I wasn’t really thinking about having anyone in the Enid reader au be a yandere, I probably would’ve added in a little smidge of the Addams curse headcanon, but other than that it’s just family trying to make it up to the person they forgot about. I don’t really know how to write yandere stuff tbf

Bonus points if they’re a pre-teen so the others are just like “aww yes let’s play ghosts and I’ll be the ghost buster!”

Being neglected wouldn’t really fit here because if they were then literally nobody would notice and reader would quite literally do all the ghostly shit they wanted if nobody was watching them so closely lol

If anything this would probably be an au with platonic yan batfam undertones because reader is just so whimsical, they love finding out what cool things the human realm has in it! The batfam wouldn’t want anyone to ruin their fun while ‘playing’ ghosts

EEEEKKK THANK YOU!!! I really try my best to mash up things corresponding to canon mcu and random fics, but most of them are just thoughts I formed at like 12 AM when I’m bored

Like, food poisoned reader? Yeah, sign me up!! Add in a bit of “what the fuck you’re writhing in agony over two glasses of strawberry lemonade.” and a few “holy shit?!” ’s as well.

Sickfic but it’s spider!reader (at this point some of the batfam realize the neglect) after drinking pink lemonade because they thought it was just super diluted strawberry juice. Don’t ask, they’ve been given it as a ‘test’ before.

They still patrol, though. So imagine seeing the friendly neighborhood spider being quiet with hella jerky movements like they’re possessed. Criminals would think they got possessed by a symbiote or something with the way they walk, not realizing that their beloved spidey is just trying to hide the fact they have a mind boggling stomachache.

Enid!reader got along with Wednesday faster than in canon, which is already fast as hell if you think about it, but reader understands Wednesday better and knows that sometimes isolation is needed for comfort.

And due to this, they don’t push boundaries as much as canon Enid does. Sure, reader will get excited and recommend things, but they hardly touch Wednesday unless it’s subconsciously. (After a while, the psychic finds she doesn’t really mind the touch.)

Enid!reader and Wednesday are codependent as HELL. They can’t leave eachother alone, and it’s gotten to a point where reader will just leave for days on end without a word to anyone besides Alfred, since they don’t want them to think they’ve been kidnapped or something. (They stayed at the Addams manor to see Wednesday because they couldn’t stand the thought of doing anything without her)

It’s gotten to the point where they can’t function properly without the other in their schedule in some sort of way. Of course, regular wenclair isn’t as bad as this version, but combining their light toxicity with codependency is just shitshow a waiting to happen.

Enid!reader tried to talk a lot about friends to her family, but since they were busy at the time and didn’t want to involve her with any cases, they would only say things like, “really?” Or “huh.” Obviously for someone like reader it felt like they were uninterested in whatever she had to say, so they started to quiet down. Batfam only figured that they had made more friends and were too busy hanging out with them to yap about it.

Enid!reader uses she/they, though they have no specific gender, they lean more towards the fem side.

Spider!reader also likes to sneak out, but they have perfect excuses. Hanging out with friends was a common lie because to be fair, how else do they address Matt and Wade? Their weird but loving uncle’s? Yeah, no.

Since I’ve talked about them having ‘allergies’, citrus and mint can cause Spider!reader to get severe food poisoning, and on some rare occasions an actual allergic reaction. Other things like lavender, tea tree oil, etc, only cause them mild discomfort and will have their spidey sense tingling as a warning.

Tony and Spider!reader love going out together for small hangouts! Hell, if the gala is small enough, Tony wouldn’t even mind taking reader with him and showing off like a proud parent. NDAs would definitely have to be signed, though. Reader is still Bruce Wayne’s child!

Matt and Wade treat reader to food while on patrol all the time. It’s gotten to the point where they have snacks hidden in their suits just for reader.

Reader uses the allowance given to them by Bruce to support Aunt May instead of spending it on things like decorations for their room at the manor, or things that they don’t need.

Spider!reader really likes spending time with Loki, for some reason. They have an unspoken alliance that nobody knows the context of, but they’ll nod at each other randomly throughout the day while in the tower.
