Mumbai Taxis Becomes New Venue and Talent Exhibition For Its Artist
Founded by Sanket Avlani, Taxi Fabric is a space for designers to showcase their talent, concepts and illustrations in Mumbai. The taxi is recognized as an iconic piece of culture due to its high function in everyday life. Although transportation in Mumbai holds a frustration reputation, Taxi Fabic aims to design an unforgettable ride. To stand out from competitors, the design team will deliver both a functional and artistic execution, which allows many of young artists to exhibit their work to thousands of people.Â
Whoop, there it is.

Honestly, Rick Rolling is the best practical joke ever. Like, thereâs nothing offensive or mean  spirited about it. Itâs just like âOops you thought there would be something else here but itâs âNever Gonna Give You Upâ.â which isnât even a bad song. Itâs fairly enjoyable to listen to. Thereâs no jumpscares, no screaming, no ill will. Just Rick Astley telling you heâs never going to give you up. I think thatâs great. âYou fell into my trap! Here, listen to this completely benign song that will have no negative effect on you.âÂ
I wish this were true. Thereâs a really good article about the problems inherent with rickrolling here.
Historical Minnesota Bikeways Maps
A current Minneapolis bikeways map looks a little different than the ones above, which are undated, but likely date from the late 1970s or early 1980s (The IDS Centerâpictured on the cover of the first mapâwas completed in 1972). Very few off road bike paths existed at the time and the number of unsatisfactory, poor, and fair bikeways were significant.
Today, Minneapolis continues to rank among the top 5 best bike cities. This year Walk ScoreŽ rated Minneapolis number one! And protected bikeways are popping up all over the city! Groups like the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition are working to improve cycling conditions and advocate for an even more bicycle-friendly city.
Each of the above maps also includes a bicycle equipment and packing list. In addition to a first aid kit, bike tools, clothes, and everyday cookware, donât forget a handkerchief, camera and film, coins for phone calls, and a notepad and pencil. Certainly not the list for your average bike ride, but perhaps something to consider for a cross-country excursion.

âAnd how hard is it to land even a minimum-wage job? This year, the Ivy League college admissions acceptance rate was 8.9%. Last year, when Walmart opened its first store in Washington, D.C., there were more than 23,000 applications for 600 jobs, which resulted in an acceptance rate of 2.6%, making the big box store about twice as selective as Harvard and five times as choosy as Cornell. Telling unemployed people to get off their couches (or out of the cars they live in or the shelters where they sleep) and get a job makes as much sense as telling them to go study at Harvard.â
â âWhy Donât the Unemployed Get Off Their Couches?â and Eight Other Critical Questions for Americans (via seriouslyamerica)
In my 20â˛s, I was on an off SNAP benefits (food stamps) for a number of years. I come from a middle class family and I have a college degree, but between Oregonâs terrible economy and several years as an AmeriCorps member, I qualified. The last time I got them I was unemployed and required to attend a training session on how to find a job. All it was was a patronizing man yelling at a roomful of 50-some broke people to find a job. He spent over an hour pointing at every individual, asking what job they wanted, and then telling them âwell I saw a job at [taco bell, trucking company, whatever] last week! go apply!â This was in a state with a 9% unemployment rate, and their solution to get people off the only readily available benefit (because welfare and section 8 and state health insurance are almost impossible to qualify for) was to yell at them to apply for jobs they have only a tiny chance of getting. At least we all walked out of the room with ten free bus tickets.

Historian Says Donât âSanitizeâ How Our Government Created The Ghettos
âWe have a myth today that the ghettos in metropolitan areas around the country are what the Supreme Court calls âde-factoâ â just the accident of the fact that people have not enough income to move into middle class neighborhoods, or because real estate agents steered black and white families to different neighborhoods or because there was white flight. It was not the unintended effect of benign policies, it was an explicit, racially purposeful policy that was pursued at all levels of government and thatâs the reason we have these ghettos today and we are reaping the fruits of those policies.â
