What’s The News, newscaster?

Me re: cutting 10,000 words from the manuscript to my first book (originally 104,000) and knowing I still want to try to cut 5-6k more in the third act.

My depression, charging my way at terminal velocity:

“Psh. Of course you’re happy to waste your time and money on garbage like the Switch. Did you know your iPhone can run some games better than the Switch? And don’t get me started on Switch tax. You should just get a Steam Deck and emulate everything. You could probably run the new Pokémon games better on it than on actual Switch hardware.”

(Except that I actually prefer Streets of Rage to Final Fight)

It has now been around 10 days since Sonic Frontiers has launched and I’d like to steer the discourse surrounding that game in another direction.

Not gonna lie, I hear everything Clavell says in David Bowie’s voice and I don’t care to try changing that.

I recently did a thing on my (new) second channel where I decided to see how far I could get into Sonic 1 using a Guitar Hero controller and uh... yeah. It was fun, so I made a highlight reel of my experience doing it.

Researching and writing about bad games from almost a decade and a half ago makes me feel like an archeologist or Philomena Cunk doing an expose on something.
