there are many facets to this that are absolutely filthy, but my personal favorite is Ticketmaster calling what is literally just them price gouging, “Platinum Seats” so that if you take screenshots and try and warn people of what’s going on, it looks like you’re complaining about the price of VIP tickets - when in fact they’re straight up nothing but Ticketmaster giving a fancy name to the decision that it wants to consume more of your money just because they felt like it

I’m so angry at Ticketmaster and I don’t want to let this go. This was supposed to be a presale for Verified Fans, but while Verified Fans are still waiting in the queue, they announce that Verified Fan tickets are “sold out” and release new tickets rebranded as “Official Platinum” aka “the same ticket for triple the price”!!!. Many fans were still waiting in the queue only to find that the ticket prices had been hiked up so astronomically that they could no longer afford tickets. On top of that, we still have next to no information about the event that we are buying tickets for, and if this will be the only opportunity for tour for this album in North America. I know she doesn’t control everything that Ticketmaster does, but I would love to hear Taylor speak up about this, because she has made change happen by speaking up before, and maybe she can do it again.
