Not all Black and White
It's a horrible sensation, loosing yourself to your inner demons. For most people, it is a bout of blinded rage or a moment of severe depression. For Eva however, it was a bit more literal. When she lost control, the demonic nature of her blood awakens and goes on a rampage. Her mother, father, and even priests have all tried to rid her of this burden, but none have ever truly found a way. Even her father, have demon blood himself, couldn't find a way to soothe the demon inside of her. And it was one of these rages that Eva found herself in tonight.
It was such a little thing, a simple little thing. Her hair. Eva's mother had long black hair, many men found it beautiful and for a long time Eva was envious of her mother; for she inherited her father's shock white hair. It was unnatural, no one under the age of sixty had white hair. And here she was, sticking out like a sore thumb. Over time Eva had come to love her hair though, a symbol of her goofy dad, a man she was proud to call her father. It's why when some little punk mocked it, that Eva lost control.
In a blind fury Eva struck out at the man, punching him repeatedly. When his friends had come to help, it only made things worse. It started with a slightest of changes, her eyes changed to a blueish color, only the slightest of black remained of her pupil. And then, in a flash of dark light, her skin began to tear and burn away, revealing an armor-like muscle underneath. Twisted horn sprouted from the top of her head, curling itself around her ears and resting along side her jawline. Instantly everyone ran, screaming of a monster attacking a defenseless human.
Karina was the first to arrive and saw her daughter's twisted form, tearing apart anyone she could get her claws on. She tried her best to subdue her daughter, but there was little she could do to help; without seriously hurting her. So Karina did the only thing that she could. Rushing towards her deranged daughter, she threw herself at Eva and wrapped her arms tightly around her. Once she hard a firm grip on Eva, she closed her eyes and screamed out a word; one that sounded like it came from a made up language.
As soon as she did, the ground beneath them trembled, before giving way and allowing both Karina and Eva to pass through it. Almost as if it had suddenly turned to water. When Karina's eyes opened, she was laying in what looked like a dungeon. Panicking, she looked around for Eva and found her chained to a nearby wall; lashing and snarling. Trying everything she could to break free and attack her own mother.
"Well..." A voice called out from behind, causing Karina to turn quickly. Standing in the doorway to the room was a man, dressed in a blue long coat, a black vest and jeans, with dark brown hair and emerald green eyes; hidden behind a pair of glasses. "What seems to be the problem here?" He continued. Karina explained what had happened, how Eva lost herself to her demonic nature. The man listened intently, all the while watching Eva.
With a sigh, he walked towards the snarling demonic Eva and looked her over, he was just out of reach of her attacks. "Whelp...there is only one thing to do." He said, before reaching out with lightning-fast speed and grabbing a hold of Eva's neck tightly and pinning her against the wall. Karina jumped to her feet, in an attempt to pull the man from her daughter. However, she was greeted with a sudden jerk. A chain had wrapped itself around her ankle, preventing her from moving.
"Don't worry, it'll be over quick." He said, with a smile, and placed a hand on Eva's forehead pressing it against the wall with enough force to crack the stone behind it. There was a sickening crack as her head was turned swiftly to the side and Eva went limp. The only sound was Karina's sobs, thinking that her daughter was gone. "Now then..." Said the man again, snapping his fingers, causing the chains to vanish and Eva's body to fall into his arm.
Gently, he laid the demonic figure on the floor. He placed his right hand over her heart and closed his eyes; speaking softly in that made up language. As he did, the torn skin on Eva's body began to mend itself, her horns slowly retracted into her skull and all other forms of demonic influence vanished. All that was left was the young Eva, laying still on the stone floor. The man sat on the floor next to Eva, placing his hand on her neck once more, before speaking again. This time, he spoke in a language Karina could understand.
"Well all have demons inside of us, Eva." He began lightly. "Humans, animals, Gods and obviously demons. There are times when they speak to us, begging to be let out. 'If you do this, the pain will vanish. If you do that, they won't mock you anymore.' It's all quite troublesome, honestly." He said, with a slight chuckle. Karina only stared on in confusion, seeing someone she once trusted talking to the corpse of her daughter, killed by his hands.
"But you see, the demons inside of us are not evil. They are base and simple, yes. But not evil. Learn what this darkness inside of you wants, accept it as just another side of you, and face it head on." He said, with a smile, as Eva began to cough harshly. "If you can face it head on and learn its truth, you'll realize that it's not a monster." He said lightly, before leaning down and kissing her forehead gently. "It's a shield to protect you, a partner to guide you, and a friend who will always be by your side." The man said, before turning towards Karina, a smile resting on his lips. "After all, not all things are as black and white as they seem. Right, my brave little knight?" He asked her, laughing as Karina groaned in annoyance at him.
A tree branch keeps hitting my roof and making creepy banging and squeaking sounds……. now that’s some @sixpenceee shit
Yes, tree branch. That’s what it is >->
As a sexy junkrat player, this pleases me
Rest now, my warrior
The battlefield was covered in bodies, discarded swords and shields, and the grass its self was drenched in the blood of fallen warriors. There was an eerie silence to this battlefield, long after the final blow and before the first scavenger's arrival. Only one warrior still lived, but only just so. He stared up at the night sky, listening to the wind blow as his final moments approached. It wasn't a bad way to go, better the silence than the screams of his friends. It was in this silence that he heard it, the sound of footsteps walking over the bloodstained grass.
Thinking it to be another enemy soldier, that dying man stirred and prepared to fight again. It wasn't until the figure came into focus before him that he realized it wasn't an enemy. It was a woman. She stood before him, dressed in a dark cloak. The cloak made her pale skin seem even whiter, almost as if made of snow, and her silvery hair snuck out from the bottom of the cloak; resting over her the middle of her chest. The soldier found her beautiful, probably the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, but the sorrow in her impossibly blue eyes caused him to pause.
The strange woman walked around him, her bare feet staining in the red blood, before settling down next to him. Gently, she lifted the young soldier's head and rested it on her lap; giving him one final comfort as he prepared to leave this world. With a tender hand, she began to stroke the top of his head; running her fingers through his brown hair. Softly, almost like a mother comforting a crying child, she spoke to him.
"Rest now, my warrior. Your hardships are over." She said softly to him, continuing to stroke the top of his head. A wave of relaxation washed over him, like the moment before falling asleep, and his eyes began to close to her soothing touch and voice. "You will live again..." She said lightly, leaning over him and kissing his right eyelid. "You will awaken once more..." She said, before kissing his left eyelid. "I promise you this." She said, sitting straight up and looking forward, toward the battlefield.
Standing before them was the warrior's spirit, clad in shining silver armor. "Till then, rest my warrior." She said, with a smile on her lips and tears in her eyes. The warrior walked towards her, leaning down over his own corpse and placing her cheek into the palm of his hand. He leaned down to her, placing a gentle kiss on her lips, before leaning back with a smile. "I will see you again, my beautiful friend." He said lightly, as his body faded. The last words that echoed from his existence was a simple "I forgive you." Leaving the lonely woman, dressed in a black cloak, in a eerily silent battlefield.

I hate those avatar creator games you can find online, only because they are so easy to get wrapped up in. A friend introduced me to one, About half an hour later I made Mitsuki from my stories.
Tale of Mitsuki: The Dragon VS An Army
Mitsuki knew this would happen, she knew the second that guard struck her with his spear. Standing outside the door to her house, she looked out into the field and saw hundreds of soldiers, ready to strike. They deemed her a threat, a monster, and had sought to subdue or kill her. Standing in front of the door, her greatsword planted into the ashen ground, she watched as a single soldier rode towards her. He was dressed in simple armor, bound cloth with wooden plates as opposed to metal. A curious choice, but one she would have to think on later.
The Soldier rode up towards her, stopping several feet from her, and dismounted. He was tall, yes, but still short in comparison to her. He walked up to her, trying his best not to shake, and stood around ten feet from her. "We are the Austrex Garrison. We have come to take you in for the assault on one of our guards." He said, trying his best to stand straight and not show fear. "We ask that you surrender and come with us to face justice for your crimes." He said, sounding some what relieved to be done.
Mitsuki, keeping her hands on the pummel of her greatsword, shook her head. "I will not submit to any imagined crimes." She said firmly, giving no sign of hesitation. "I must insist.." The man said, sounding surprised by her response. "Our lord, Lord Renoux, was chosen by the Lord Ruler himself to-" Before he could continue, Mitsuki let out a single word of power, clearing the ash around them for a moment. While the ashy overhang remained, Mitsuki stood in what was probably the only clear space within several miles.
"You speak of Lords, as if these titles matter to me." She said, taking a few steps towrads the soldier. "Bring your lord to me, and when you do tell him my titles. I am Mitsuki Shinozuka, Laat-Dovah-Kiin, Dragon of the North, Listener of the Night Mother, Archmage of the College of Winterhold, Harbinger of the Companions, Nightingale of Nocturnal, Legate of the Imperial Army, Slayer of the World Eater, Friend of the Skaal, Qahnaarin of Dragon kind, and Champion of the 15 Daedric Princes." She said, now towering over the shaking soldier. "I tell you this as warning. The next time you send an army to capture me." She said, pointing towards the Garrison, "Don't insult me with such a small platoon."
Turning on her heel, Mitsuki returned to her greatsword and placed her hand on its pummel. "Bring me Lord Renoux to speak of his apology for the lack of manners his soldiers have shown me." And with that, she leveled her gaze on him. Despite the black cloth over her eyes, the soldier could feel her gaze and quickly ran to his horse. "You have signed your death warrant!" He shouted at her, before riding off. With a sigh, one hand raising to rub her temples, she looked out at the soldiers. "I wish that one day, they would take my offer." And with that she walked towards the army.
After about twenty steps, ensuring her home was well out of range, her hands erupted into flames that snaked up to her shoulders. By this time, the guard at reached the rest of his fellow soldiers and were moving in on her. As they did, Mitsuki began to charge her spell, the flames on her arms growing more fierce as her magicka fueled them. "You fear a healing spell, I can only assume you don't have magic here..." She said, as the flames roared to life on her arms. "So let's see how you deal with some real destruction magic." She said, raising her hand into the air before thrusting it into the ground beneath her.
In and instant fire exploded from the point her hand touched, covering a large portion of the field she stood in. The spell was powerful on its own, but fueled by her new magicka reserves, and the dry ashen grass all around, the field was turned into a virtual hellscape; with Mitsuki at it's heart. With a deep inhale she shouted three words of power, and before her a massive cyclone appeared; drawing in the flames and turning it into a flaming vortex that loomed over the Garrison of Austrex.
Terrified by the sudden explosion, and following flaming cyclone, they quickly turned and retreated from the battlefield. With a smirk, Mitsuki turned and walked towards her home. However, after a few steps, a sudden fatigue washed over her and she stumbled slightly; having to use her greatsword for support. "Okay...Master magic plus thu'um, bad idea." She said to herself, shaking the dizzy spell from her mind. After retrieving her sword, Mitsuki walked back into the house and closed the door behind her. "This is going to be a long...long week."
Mitsuki’s tale: From Dragons to Ash
Several weeks had passed since Mitsuki's spell and she had learned a few things about the strange new land she was in. The first was the obvious, she wasn't in Mundus anymore. While this land had a sun and stars, much like her home, these astrological objects weren't like the ones from home. She could not draw Magicka from them, nor could she draw Magicka from the land itself. This lead her to believe that she wasn't in Oblivion, since she would be able to draw on Deadric energies, nor was she in Aetherius; where she could draw magicka from the very air.
This brought her to her second discovery, her experiment was a partial success. The Crystal Heart, which she intended to turn into a Magicka Wellspring, had soaked her and her house in it; giving her a near endless supply of power to fuel her spells. This would be useful to her in the days to come. Her final discovery was more about the land itself. Upon her first arrival, while it was night out, she thought the land was covered in a thick snow. However, as time progressed and daylight began to shine, she realized that it wasn't snow at all. Instead the land was covered in a thick ash, no doubt from a large volcano that she could see in the distance.
Thankfully she had plenty of food stored in her home, so she had no need to worry about food for the immediate future, but she would need to find some form of civilization and pray that they had a mage that could help her home. So, after much deliberation, she packed up a small bag of food, milk, and soul gems and headed out. The only other thing she wore was a modified Nightingale armor, helping her keep cool in this ashy wasteland, and her Deadric greatsword. While she could conjure weapons at will, she'd prefer a physical backup. Just to be safe. The last thing she did was wrap a black cloth over her eyes from being damaged by the ashfalls.
It didn't take Mitsuki all that long to find a rather large river, and her first signs of civilization. The river was regularly dredged of ash, to keep fairly clean. If she had to guess, Mitsuki would assume it was for barges to sail up and down the river, since roads would be a nightmare to travel for long distances. Following the river downstream, figuring such a large river had to empty out into an ocean, she hoped to find a city. And after a few miles, she found just that
A rather impressive city, large enough to house the citizens of Solitude, Windhelm, and Markarth, it was a welcome sight after weeks of isolation. Making her way down the ashen hill towards the city, she came across the first humans of this new land. They worked the fields and were fairly short in comparison to the people she had met in the past. They were of similar height to the Bosmer or Dunmer, but built more like a Nord. If she were to stand next to even the tallest of these humans, they would be about chest level with her. What caught her eye though, apart from how they wore little more than rags and seemed malnourished, was another human in the field. He seemed to be watching over them and was much taller, about chin high to her, and she could instantly tell he was from a more well off family. The smaller class in the fields were probably servants, possibly even slaves. A notion that Mitsuki didn't want to even consider.
As Mitsuki walked towards the town, nestled quite nicely on the coast and next to the river, she could feel the stares of both the workers and their masters. Many of the workers backed away, as if frightened by her appearance, while the more well off people looked at her with curiosity and distrust; as if she was here to ransack the city. The guards of the city, seemingly from the same race as the workers, didn't treat her the same.
As Mitsuki approached the gate to the city, two guards leveled spears to her. "Who are you?!" One of the demanded, trembling as she loomed down over him. "Why are you here?!" He demanded again. Despite the threat, Mitsuki was partially relieved that they spoke a language she understood. With this, she might be able to defuse the situation before it got to bad.
However, things just didn't seem to be going her way. As she raised her hand, the other guard thrust his spear towards her; thinking she was going for the blade on her back. Caught off guard by the sudden attack, the spear tip stuck her shoulder and caused her to reel back. Grasping her shoulder in pain, blood pooling from the wound, she let out a light groan. "What did you do that for?!" She screamed at the soldier, lowering her bloodied hand and conjuring a small ball of yellow light. It was a simple healing spell, meant to close the wound before the ash infected it.
"Monster!" The guard cried out again, as her wound stitched itself closed. Instantly alarm bells rang and she could hear cries of panic and orders being yelled from beyond the gate. Cursing, Mitsuki turned and began to run from the city gate. She only looked back once, to see a small platoon of guards chasing after her. With one final curse, she returned her gaze towards the forest on the outskirts of town and noticed a few of the field masters were ready for her.
Inhaling deeply, she tapped into her dragonic blood and spoke three words. As she did, the ash around her hung in the air. The guards seemed to slow to a standstill and Mitsuki herself ran, as if in molasses. However, to the outside world, it would've seemed like she was moving impossibly fast. By the time the effects of her shout wore off, she was well past the field masters and with one final pull into her dragonic powers, she spoke three more words and disappeared into the forests beyond.
Mitsuki Shinozuka; After Skyrim
With little effort, Mitsuki made her way up the unmarked path to Heljarchen Hall, one of many homes she owned, but this was her favorite. Despite it being so cold, something this region of the world had in abundance, the view of the snow covered forest was simply breath taking. It was because of this, and her wife Sylgja, that Mitsuki quickened her pace up the hill. Once she caught sight of the hall, built by her own two hands, a soft smile fell onto Mitsuki's lips. Mitsuki was finally home.
Walking past Markus, her every faithful carriage driver, she made her way into her house and lowered her black hood. With a relaxing sigh, as the heat from the fireplace washed over her, she dusted off the fresh snow and made her way into the main hall. It was filled with many things from her journeys. Her eyes fell onto the many conjuration staffs that decorated her house, the display cases filled with weapons of Stalhrim and Ebony, before finally falling onto Sylgja.
Walking over to her, she wrapped an arm around her waist and gave her a lite kiss on the cheek. "How goes the shop, hun?" Mitsuki asked her, sitting down at the table in the main hall. "Back from some other adventure I see." She said with a smile, before setting down a pouch of Septims on the table. "It's going quite well. But that's now surprising, considering most of the people in town know I'm married to their thane." She said, with a slight chuckle.
Mitsuki nodded, smiling at that. "Good, then I won't have to burn down the hold for making my lovely Sylgja unhappy." Sylgja only laughed at the notion. After a few moments of listening to Oriella playing her flute, Mitsuki turned towards Sylgja. "Why don't you take the girls into town for a bit? Take Oriella and Gregor with you?" She asked, causing Sylgja to tilt her head in confusion. With a smile, Mitsuki pulled out a cloth covered object from her pocket and placed it on the table. "I found something Black Reach, I'm not sure if its Dwember, Snow Elf, or Deadric, but it gave me an idea for a new spell I want to try out." Mitsuki said, before looking to her wife. "It might be dangerous, so I don't want Lucia or Runa here when I attempt it."
With a sigh, and the shake of a head, Sylgja nodded lightly. "Very well, love." She said, before calling out. "Lucia! Runa! We are heading into town for a few!" The sounds of the two girls scurrying upstairs echoed, before two girls, now in their adolescence, peaked over the railing and down towards their mothers. "Okay!" Both said in unison, before running to gather their things. Sylgja walked over to Mitsuki, placing a hand on her shoulder, and leaning down close to one of her pointed ears. "Be careful my love. I don't want to be a widow just yet." She said, before kissing Mitsuki on the head and making her way out of the house.
Once she heard Markus leave with the rest of the household, Mitsuki began work. She slid the large table across the floor and towards the kitchen door way, giving her access to the large dinning room. Heading into her back storage room, where she had stored everything from ancient Nordic weaponry, to artifacts of the various Deadra, she retrieved a few choice objects. The first objects she gathered were five Black Soul Gems, each filled with the soul of a master mage; one for each of the schools of magic. She then gathered the Star of Azura, the Deadric artifact from the Queen of the Night sky herself. Within it was trapped the soul of a Deadric warrior, one who thought he could best Mitsuki. How mistaken he was. All that was left was some charcoal and a sheet of paper. The next couple of minutes was spent in silence, only the sound of the fire crackling and Mitsuki's drawing on the stone floor echoed through the hall.
Once she was done, she climbed the stairs to the second floor and looked down at her spell. It was a six-pointed star, all within a circle. At each point of the star rested one of the soul gems, with Azura's Star being at the top. At the center of it all was the object she had found; what appeared to be a crystallized heart. Around the outside of the circle was deadric writing and along the inner lines of the star were more arcane symbols; meant to protect the castor. Once Mitsuki was certain everything was in place, checking the design she had drawn before on the sheet of paper, she made her way towards the center of the circle.
"Well, it's now or never." She said lightly to herself, before lowering her head lightly and closing her eyes. With a deep inhale, she began to cast her spell. A dark purple mist began to pour from her hands, as she moved them around her. She turned to face of the soul gems, drawing on their energy to fuel her magic. Each time she drew upon their power, the room seemed to quiver from the arcane energy. By the time she reached Azura's star, it felt like an earthquake was striking the house. Once the Deadra's power had been absorbed into her spell though, the crystallized heart began to beat. "It's working..." Mitsuki said, with a wide smile, before thrusting all of the magical energy she had gathered straight into the crystal heart. It began to beat wildly, as it absorbed all of the energy, before finally shattering. With a look of shock and horror, all of the arcane energy began to flow wildly through the house, destroying furniture, shattering display cases and splintering the beds for Gregor and Oriella.
Mitsuki tried her best to contain the magical forces, but nothing worked, it was far beyond her control. After what seemed like an eternity, the magical energy began to calm down, and finally settling. With a sigh of relief, Mitsuki lowered a ward she cast to defend herself, and looked around the room. Despite being a wreck, the house withstood most of the force. "Oh thank the Gods..." She said, running a hand through her silvery hair, before making her way to the front door.
As she was trying to figure out what went wrong, she opened the door and stepped out into the night air. With sigh, she began to look at her home to see how bad the damage was. Luckily it was mostly okay. She'd need to fix quite a bit of it, but it would still hold. It was then that she realized something was off. Looking around, it took a few seconds to register. Heljarchen Hall stood on a hill, over looking a snowy forest. However, where she was now was completely different. It was a flat grassy plain, like outside of Rorikstead. But that wasn't the strangest sight for her. Her eyes quickly turned upwards and it was then that she realized why something felt off. There was no moons.

it’s so disappointing :D
I’ve made sitting friends on Tracer during Skirmishes and during matches. Generally when my team is being rude. It’s gotten to the point that when I hop on as Tracer, I have no intention of really playing. I’m just making friends with the foxy Pharah on the other team :-p

Erma X-mas Special #2
Hey guys. The continuation for the “Rats in the School Walls” story will be arriving this upcoming week. Just got one more class for this semester to deal with. Enjoy.
This is adorable
Nevermore
It was a dreary midnight, and the elderly man felt every bit of it. He had begun to fall asleep, after pouring into a quaint a curious piece of forgotten literature. The elderly man may have done just that, had a sudden tapping not echoed through his room. Startled by the sound, the man looked around for its source, before chuckling softly to himself. "It is merely some visitor." He said to himself "Nothing more." He finished, as if to convince himself.
Standing, he made his way towards the door and with each step he distinctly began to remember why he was reading. Why every dying ember of his fireplace wrought a ghost across the floor. That bleak December, so long ago, when his rare and radiant love was stolen from him. At the door, he let a sigh escape his lips. "...Lenore..." he said lightly, a name so beautiful it was surely given by an angel.
Opening the door he was greeted by nothing more than silken purple curtains, rustling only slightly by the wind. Despite the emptiness of the hallway, something about it filled him with fear, such fears that no one had felt before. "It is only a visitor." He said quickly to himself. "It is just a late visitor, wishing to see me. Nothing more." He said, trying to convince himself that no demon stood before him; waiting to claim him.
Once his heart had stopped pounding, he began to walk down the hall and towards the door that the tapping came from. "Sir!" He called out to the darkness "Or madam, you will have to forgive me. For you see, I was just about to fall asleep, when you knocking awoken me." He said, standing before the door as he began to unlock it. "It was such a light knock, that I might have missed it earlier, so please forgive me." He said, opening the door. Darkness was only there, nothing more.
He stood, staring out into the darkness for a long time. He wondered, feared, if this was some sort of trick and began to worry of some monster standing in the darkness. His fears grew so great, that no nightmare before could match his fears. It was then that he wondered, had her ghost come back? Was it her? "Lenore?" He asked into the darkness. Only his echoed murmur "Lenore?" returned back, nothing more.
Turning back, he closed the door and returned to his study, where he sat and pondered on that nights events. When suddenly, the tapping returned, only louder than before. His eyes turned to his closed window, where the tapping came from. Letting out a light chuckle, he made his way towards it. "Sure, it is just a tree branch, or a piece of garbage rustling against the window." He said to himself. "Or the wind, blowing against the lattice. Nothing else." He said, trying to calm his beating heart once more.
He quickly drew open the window and was instantly hit was a gust of wind, blowing the old man back from the window. Quickly, he rushed forward and slammed the window shut and latching it in place. Gasping for air, he turned back to his seat only to be greeted by the sight of a woman. She wore a long black robe, the hood of which was drawn over her head. The woman stood with her back to the door, just beneath the bust of Pallas. She stood there and stared beneath her hood, saying nothing more.
The man chuckled lightly, nervous by the sight by trying not to seem worried. "Since you have gone to the trouble of getting into my home, without alerting anyone, I am to assume you mean no harm?" He asked, walking towards his fire place, keeping an eye on this strange person. "Please, tell me, what name you go by? So that we may talk." The hooded figure looked up slightly, revealing a pair of icy blue eyes under the hood. She spoke softly, almost muted out by the roar of the fire. But loud enough for him to hear. "Nevermore."
The man blinked and gaped at the strange woman. He had not expected her to answer him so plainly. Although the name itself held no meaning to him, he felt that it was not her name. He found it hard to believe that any being would be given such a name as "Nevermore" now or ever. The man tried to come up with some rhyme or reason for her response, why claim the name when no one would have it?
Despite his musing, the strange woman merely stood there. It was then that it clicked in his mind, that she was here to steal from him. He chuckled lightly at this notion. "You know..." He said lightly to her, making his way to his chair. "Many of your friends have tried to break in before, and by morning they have left with nothing." He said, sitting in the chair. "As many people I have known..." he said ruefully to himself. Again though, the woman spoke the single word, as if her whole soul depended on the single word. "Nevermore."
He chuckled again. 'I doubt you'll get what you came for. It is the same story told over and over. Let me guess. you're master will be unhappy if you do not return with something? Some unmerciful disaster will befall you should you arrive empty handed?" He asked, chuckling to himself. "Well, I am afraid your hopes will be unfulfilled, you shall not take anything from me." He said, waving her to leave.
However, the woman did not move. Not even the slightest shiver of her robe. Angered by her actions, he stood and grabbed his chair. He slid it across the floor and slammed it against her, pinning her to the door. The man pressed it hard against her and he pulled the hood from her head, revealing a ivory waterfall of silk-like hair. But this mattered not to him, he stood on the chiar and glared into her eyes.
"Wretch!" the man screamed into her face. "God has taken every them from me! Him and his accursed angels! I simply wish to be left alone, to wallow in my own sorrow for Lenore!" He screamed at her, pressing his knee into the chair to push into her. The woman, however, did not more, nor did she seem bothered by the pressure from the chair. She merely smiled and spoke the word once more. "Nevermore."
Angered by the word, he screamed again. "Do you think yourself a prophet?! Well then, I don't care what you are, thief or devil. Tell me, with you prophetic abilities. Tell me, do you have a cure for my pain? Some Balm from distant Gilead to heal my broken heart?!" he demanded of the strange woman. To which, of course, she spoke only the single word. "Nevermore."
"Give me an answer!" He screamed at her. "You devil, if you do not wish to tell me that, then answer me this. At least tell me, give my sorrowful soul some peace. Will I ever find that peace again?! Will I ever be able to clasp my rare and radiant Lenore again?!" He demanded of the woman, tears streaming from his eyes as he looked into her pale blue eyes. "Nevermore." Was her reply.
"Then let that be our final word, fiend!" He shrieked, throwing the chair from the figure. "I do not care where you go, back to the shadows you came from or to the depths of hell that spawned you! Just leave me to my sorrows, take your word and remove yourself from my door!" He screamed at her, to which she responded with a smile. "Nevermore."
And as she stood there, beneath the bust of Pallas, the old mans heart began to ache and throb. He fell to the floor, turning towards the mysterious figure. It was then that he saw it, the true face of the visitor. The hood she wore before had been placed back on and her eyes, like a demons, stared into him. It was Death, to take him and his sorrows shall now be lifted nevermore.

The Thief in the Mists
Legends tell of the Mistborn, a being who could burn all of the Allomantic metals. But the Words of Founding focus on one specific Mistborn, who stood above them all. Vin, The Heir to the Survivor, The Ascendant Warrior, Lady Mistborn, Mother. She had as many names as she did legends of her power. Some claimed she could use her Allomancy to fly through the air, using the faint metals hidden in the ground to keep her aloft. Others claimed that she could stop a army of rampaging Koloss with only a look. And even more claim that she fought an army of the Devil's enforcers and killed them all, turning the last into Harmony's Agent.
While these were impressive feats, none of it mattered to Eva. To her these were nothing more than fanciful stories, meant to keep the weak willed in place. "Don't be bad, or The Ascendant Warrior will send a Devil after you," "Don't steal or the Heir will steal away your emotions." Common threats hurled around the city, but few ever took them seriously. Eva was one such girl, she used her Allomancy to steal and the Nicrobands to give her more strength. Around Eva's ankles rested Nicrobands, cloth bands with a plate of metal tied to it. The band around her right ankle was a Steel-band, a thin medallion of Nicrosil with a plate of steel pressed into it. When charged by a Coinshot, a allomancer who could burn Steel, it would imprint the power into the band and allow anyone to use that power. The band around her left ankle was a Pewter-band, allowing her to use the abilities of a Thug and increase her physical abilities. These two bands, plus her own Bendalloy Allomancy, made her quite difficult to deal with.
Which is what got Eva into her current situation. She stood on the ledge of a twenty story building, a Bendalloy bubble around her, and half of the police force chasing her down. There were already three Coinshots after her, frozen in midair outside of her bubble, and at least ten Thugs on the ground. They had somehow been tipped off about what she was planning, she'd have a long talk with Jedo once she got back to their base. Maybe he could find out who had tipped off the police.
With a sigh, Eva looked around the ledge and tried to find a way out of her current troubles. It was then that she saw it, a frozen figure in the mists. Some say that the mists were how Harmony watched over the world and that in them, the Ascendant Warrior still lived on. With a chuckle, and little other options, she shrugged and turned towards the figure. "I'll figure it out in the fall." She said to herself, and taking a deep breath before letting her Bendalloy bubble fall and sprinting after the figure. She wasn't sure if the figure would lead her to safety or danger, but she'd laugh regardless and spit in the eye of anyone who tried to take her freedom from her. Be them a God, Devil, or mythical Warrior.
Two things in the Darkness
"I knew a man once..." Karina started. "The greatest man I have ever known." She said lightly, her old hands wrinkled with age, her husband dead and her daughter off in some far corner of the world. "He saved me from the darkness I put myself in."
"What do you mean?" The young doctor asked her, adjusting the I.V. bag.
Karina smiled lightly, leaning back into her comfortable bed. "A long time ago, I was convinced by some stuffy old soldiers that my husband was a monster. That his genetics would cause him to kill others. Sure, he looked human now. But one day, he'll snap. And so, on that night, I tried to stop him before it happened." She said lightly, her brown eyes looking down slighting in shame. "It was only a few weeks later that I found out about our daughter. The ever living reminder of what I had done."
The doctor looked down at her, slightly confused. "But, you're husband died only a few years ago. How could you have 'stopped' him if he died then?" He asked lightly.
Karina shook her head lightly, her pale-brown hair shaking slightly from the motion. "He lived and went away to recover. It took him seven long years before I found out he had lived. But, in that time, I had raised our daughter harshly. Sure I loved her, she was my world, but I was afraid. Afraid that she had inherited more than just his hair color." She said lightly, leaning back and staring at the ceiling. "That is when I met him..."
"Him?" The doctor asked, sitting down in a chair besides her. "The 'greatest man' that you ever knew?"
Karina nodded lightly, turning her eyes towards a vase filled with roses. "He had broken into the base we lived in, no one knew he was there. I only found him, because of his flair for the dramatics." She said, chuckling lightly to herself. "He was playing a flute, such a soft song." A light smile appearing on her lips. "I followed the song and found him, silhouetted by the moonlight. He looked like some sort of angel, sent from heaven."
The doctor chuckled lightly. "Love at first sight?" He asked her.
Karina laughed at the words, coughing from the sudden outburst. "No! Of course not! I attacked him, soon as I laid eyes on him." She said, leaning back and inhaling deeply from the oxygen that was being fed to her. "But no matter how hard I tried, I could never hit him. It was like he was dancing with me. He eventually escaped my grasp, but not for long. I found him the next day, playing with my sweet little Eva." She sighed lightly, rubbing her forehead lightly. "By the time I arrived, she had already fallen for him. I still don't know if he had planned to meet her, or if that idiot had lucked out." She said, sounding exhausted from the mere memory of that day.
"Idiot?" The doctor asked. "I thought he was the greatest man you've ever known."
Karina nodded "He is also the biggest idiot I've ever met. He walked right in through our bases front door! What type of moron does that?" She asked, closing her eyes lightly. "We spent the next couple of years together. Eva was practically raised by him and we were...I don't know what we were...More than friends, less than lovers, but stronger than either could ever be." She said lightly, looking up at the ceiling of her room. "He saved my from that darkness, where my darling little girl was a monster waiting to appear. Where I couldn't see that the love of my life wasn't the monster everyone said he was..." She said lightly, a tear rolling down her cheek. "He saved me and yet, I never was able to save him..."
The doctor tilted his head. "What do you mean?" He asked lightly.
Karina sighed lightly, wiping the tears from her eyes. "You are young still, you don't understand it all yet." She said lightly. "He could see the darkness in me, the pain I felt and the fear I endured. He could see it, because he was in that same darkness. He knew the pain I felt, because he has felt it himself." She explained, her eyes turning to the roses. All of them were red, with the exception of a single petal on one. It had started to wilt, turning darker violet color; almost like a dark blue. "He taught me to live my life to the fullest and never let the ones I loved go. For that, and so much else, he is the greatest fool of a man that I've ever known." She said lightly.
The doctor chuckled. "It is good advice." He said lightly, standing and making his way from the room as a male nurse walked in. The nurse began cleaning up the room. "I heard your story miss..." He said lightly, keeping his back to her. "It is a good story."
Karina chuckled lightly, turning her eyes to the nurse. "It is, isn't it?" She said lightly, watching as the nurse turned to leave.
The nurse paused at the doorway, turning his head slightly to look over his shoulder at her. A single green eye peeked over his shoulder at her. "And just so you know, there are two things in the Darkness." he said lightly, Karina sitting up and looking towards the nurse; trying to say something but finding herself unable to. "The darkness is filled with the lost and those who help them. I don't need to be saved, my little knight. If I was, how could I save the brave and beautiful?" He said, and she could almost hear the smile in his voice. That same old smile he gave her years ago. The one that kept her from being the monster she feared, that the ones she loved would become monsters themselves.

Writing Exercise
Recently I saw a post about the 7 details a character needs to be believable. They are basically seven questions. What are their primary drives, what are their fears, what are their physical desires, what are their forms of self expression, how do they express affection, what controls them, and what parts of them change throughout their story. So I figured I'd do a little writing exercise and use these details to breakdown one of my characters. I'd like so see other people do this as well, so feel free to tag at least two people and see how it spreads. I tag @blanksa and @rosaliemizzrym
This breakdown is on my character Drake
1.) Primary Drive: What drives them forward and how do they justify their actions? - Drake's Primary Drive is his desire to be with Hrist again and protect her from a prophecy that foretells her death. Because of his feelings for her, he is willing to play any role to protect her. Even if he has to dive into hell itself and become the Devil, he'd do it without hesitation for Hrist.
2.) Fear: What is their deepest fears - Drake's deepest fear is meeting Hrist again. The way he left, leaving her at the altar, is his biggest regret. But he knew he had to leave then, or else he knew he'd be to weak to leave her side. What Drake fears the most is seeing her cry and the anger that would follow with it.
3.) Physical Desires: What is the one thing they love to touch? Doesn't have to be in a romantic context, such as loving the touch of silk or cotton. - Drake loves the feel of long hair, just running his hands through it. He grew up in a world where it was scandalous to hold hands. So to him, the simple act of running his hand through someones hair is a sign of trust that goes beyond friendship and lovers.
4.) Self Expression: What is their personality like? - Drake is often very calm and collective, like he knows the outcome of any situation he is in. Because of this, he often seems very laid back and relaxed, just going with the flow of things. But most of his actions hide their true motives. He is always on the look out, watching people and learning things about his environment from their subtle actions.
5.) Express Affection: How do they show they care for someone? Romantic or otherwise. - Drake expresses his affection towards someone by talking softly and gently towards them, by turning all of his attention towards them. He generally only does this with people he cares about, such as with Hrist, Karina, Beatrix, or Eva and each of them hold different meanings to him. Hrist holds his romantic feelings, he loves her more than anyone. Karina he respects as a warrior, able to fight for what she believes in. Beatrix he respects her intellect, loving to debate with her for hours on end. And Eva, he views as a surrogate daughter, he'd always be there for her.
6.) What Controls them?: What are they helpless against. It could be a moral code, a ideology, or something more physical. - Drake is a sucker for strong women, as evident by his love for Hrist. If a woman can best him in any way, they could easily get the upper hand on him. He is also very sentimental. Since he has lived multiple lifetimes and has met the same person in multiple worlds, his feelings for them would affect how he treats them in other worlds. He has let his sentimentality get the better of him on occasion, resulting him many of the scars that cover his body.
7: How do they change? - Before Drake left, he was more selfish about his desires and how he interacted with people. However, after he left and saw the consequences of his actions, he learned to take responsibility for his mistakes. If someone died because of him, he'd ensure their family was taken care of. Instead of before, where he would've just walked away and never thought twice about it.
