My Nexplanon Story~ ^^

I am now 28! And HAVE MY TUBES TIED!!! I got a Tubal Ligation done in May. While they had me in surgery they also took out the implant.

Overall, no babies, so that's good. However, since getting the implant out my 💀 issues have gone up. It may be hormonal soo had hormone testing for PCOS done today. I don't really have PCOS symptoms but that'll check all the different hormones and my thyroid.

The plan of action might be to get me on birth control pills and see if that helps by just taking away my period. I might also get my medicine switched around. Currently on Vraylar 1.5 mg and Adderall XR 25mg. I feel like the vraylar doesn't help with my depression enough and I still become hypomanic. Which might actually just be the bpd because I've tried /all/ the drugs and nothing ever continues to work.

Dunno how long hormone testing will take, but I see my psychiatrist tomorrow so something's gonna get changed or added.

The overall ease for me to get approved for tubal was surprising. I've been approved by 3 different Drs since I was 25. I waited until my nexplanon finished its LABELED expiration date because I was 25 and even though I knew I never wanted to birth a child, so many people were telling me I'd regret it so I wanted to wait.

If y'all would like to hear about my reasonings for not wanting to give birth and how to make it easier to find someone to tie your tubes let me know!

I got it done in Effingham, Illinois btw. But had approval in Hot Springs, Arkansas too.

Had an implant for three years. Got it changed out at PP again and paid $600. 3 years went by and I go change it at PP again. They tell me off label use is 5 years! Hell ya I thought.

Wait two more years. $59 Obgyn this time tells me PP should not have told me 5 years and that it was dangerous to have it past 3. Never got pregnant so did not care. Still don't. I have had my third one for a few months now. Less bruising this time and it is MUCH closer to the surface. I threw up halfway through this procedure because I was so anxious about the pain but did not have any. The healing process was a bitch because of old scar tissue and the previous implant being impeded or something. Also it was so close to the surface that my boob would rub on it and cause sharp pain. It took like 15 days and a lot of ibuprofen. I have had regular periods, very light actually now that I've thought about it. But no long term bleeding again!!! Love that. No weight gain like last time. It's super close to the surface and never hurts anymore. I deff recommend this birth control. My hormonal acne is a little much but get in touch with me and I will tell you my routine that helps the healing process a TON. If I get many likes on this I will just post the routine on here. Will post pics if I can find them.

But it's been.. Only two weeks. It feel like more though. The hormones caused me to break out quite a bit. Which sucked because I finally started to have clear skin. The blemishes have gone down quiet a lot, however they were pretty huge so that's not saying much :<

I was supposed to get my period on Friday, but it still has yet to happen. 

It's healing pretty fast. Almost a week and the shot and insertion site are barely there.

For some reason my arm REALLY itched today. It was on and off, but it was pretty bad. I also kept getting cramps, something that never really happens besides right before I get my period. Maybe I'm ovulating... But I should've already ovulated before I got the implant in, so that doesn't really make much sense. Oh well. Perhaps it's a side effect. 

I took off the bandage around noon. I kinda wish I didn't because after that it hurts a lil. I took video of me doing that, I'll post it tomorrow~

Two weeks ago: Okay, so two weeks ago I went to my local Planned Parenthood to discuss getting Implanon. Before I went I had my mom sign a parental consent form. I went all by myself. All that really happened was I filled out paperwork and then went into the patient room and talked with a nurse and doctor about what the implant is and all the side effects, how it works, ect. I'm 17 years old and so I didn't have to have any exams. Personally I have no illnesses, diagnosed mental disorders, or any STDs. I'm not sure what would have had to have happened if I did though. So that's why the appointment was so simple~

Today: I got the implant put in at around 12 P.M. today. I waited with my best friend in the waiting room at the Planned Parenthood for around an hour. ;-; And I was in the patient room for around an hour also. However, most of the time was spent talking about the implant and just me waiting for the doctor to come in. When the doctor came in she had me lay down and she opened all of the equipment. I had to lay my arm up sort by my head (kinda like if you're flexing). She put iodine (uhm, I think; honestly I just remember that it was read) around the area that it would be inserted. The after she put in the shot that would numb the area. Honestly this is the only thing that hurt. And it didn't even hurt all that much. It does burn/sting a lotish near the end, but it's not bad. I had to cover my eyes with my other hand just to distract me. ahah. Soon after it was time to insert the implant~ Again I covered my eyes so I didn't see what it looked like when she started to put it under. I pretty much didn't feel it at all. So don't worry about it hurting when it goes in ^^. It did hurt a little bit after it was fully in though. But that's because the numbing agent didn't go as far as where the implant was going to go in. But that's okay, that still wasn't all too bad whatsoever. Oh, at some point she wiped off the red liquid stuff. I forget when though. I think after the implant was put in. But it could have been after the shot. I really don't remember. But anyways~ So after she put the implant in I felt it and just asjhslkdg it felt really odd. I don't like feeling things under my skin. Also the fact that it was numb was also really odd. She put a few bandages on the incision site and then applied a pressure bandage.  Then I was ready to go~ I could easily move my arm and it wasn't anything like I expected. I was expecting my left arm to feel really numb all over and unable to properly drive. 

845$ later I was leaving the Planned Parenthood to drive my friend and I around. I haven't had any pain from the arm. Well not really. A few times I think I've felt a sting of pain, but I can't tell if that was just my mind tricking me. I asked my mom if it should have hurt already and if it'd hurt when the numbing agent wore off. Turns out it should've stopped working around 4 or 6 hours? And it's almost 12 A.M. Still no pain. Ohya, I went to work also. I made a few pizzas and helped on the phones. I avoided moving really heavy objects though. But other that that my day wasn't forced to be changed at all.
