I like to think these 2 weren't exactly your average Spike & Garo... but sort of "outcasts". Boopkins coming from a rejected lineage of aquatic Spikes and Bob being some ancient spirit that stole a Garo's cloak and swords to blend in (or rather, the shell? Since they're described as empty shells in the game

Bob would legitimately just walk around ragdoll style bc he was still learning how to move around like a normal being

In their debuts, they would obviously be close to their Nintendo counterparts, but as the series go I'd think their "redesigns" would be more gradual and natural compared to 4+3...

Bob's cloak, after over 5000 years, would naturally deteriorate. Then it decides to make a new cloak (body?) of his own using a trash bag, patching together with his previous one. The middle part would be turned into his bandana.

One thing that always stayed the same in all of my iterations of Mario was the eyes, star tail and glove pawpads lol...

Currently I like to thing that the eyes are the presentation of the Avatar status, representing the chaotic energy that resides inside Mario after the USB incident.

The star tail is something I thought of dropping a few times but I still think it's cute ... it was originally some sort of halo (Player 1 style you see in games) that was always hidden inside Mario's hat, and Mario can warp it to own liking. Uses it to mimic tail like 4's at times.

Mario's colors can also be changed and shifted around to fit any iterations the canon version has. Classic era it would usually be the saturated red, blue and yellow but nowadays tending to be more easy to the eye.

Current design has a two-toned overall that represents the guardians (4+3). Means nothing I just thought it would be neat
