sorry to start this up again, i was thinking about how theres something doubly racist in the hylotl being specifically japanese coded and demeaning as hell to the ~uncivilized and savage~ florans, like. japan has a horrible violent history with their past colonies, especially korea and some polynesian territories, and theres been many efforts to erase that history within japan, even still using fashy symbols in the military... cf fucked up real bad making "justified" xenophobia here :/
