I volunteer at a wild pokemon care center, and they definitely would like me to train something that will allow me to actually help them in the field instead of just doing grunt work at their headquarters. I'm not gonna be helping wrangle salamences any time soon, but they want me to be able to go and apprehend some feral rattata living in someones attic without getting mauled.

Hi! So, I'm new to these roleplay and art blogs. I really wanna get better at art and I love these pokemon IRL blogs, so I want to try one!
I am 22, and am starting this blog on my IRL birthday! It'll take a bit to get the ball rolling on these for me, and I may never consistently upload, but honestly its a for-fun project anyways lol.

Tomorrow there's an event where a bunch of our local artists make large silly vehicles and have a race! My favorite is probably the falinks crew that appears each year. No one knows if they even have a trainer, running theory is they do it for love of the game. A prior year they all dressed up as Dolly Partons on a yassified chariot cart. They always do something silly.
There was also one that was like... a geodude-looking-thingy with a human butt. That one was also great. That one was by people though.
There was also a team that had several combee with them. Was a lot of fun to see them buzz around the cart as it went.
Some of those things have actual flamethowers attached btw. Not even like, pokemon using the move flamethrower. Actual man-made flamethrowers. They're startlingly loud things.
Ok so like I asked a volunteer and I was told "yeaah they aren't SUPPOSED to have open flames but we're not gonna try and argue with the tank with a flamethrower."

I had a student come in and... with them was a variant of Roggenrola I hadnt seen since I was completing my internship in a separate region.
I like trying to do basic sketches for all of the wacky and wild variants of Pokémon I encounter but... gotta be honest, im really poor at catching the likeness of my research subjects.
Anyways. For all of your viewing pleasure, id like to introduce you to a Oaxemian Roggenrola! The one I sketched here is named Amethyst, and honestly she's the perfect specimen when it comes to these guys.
The Oaxem region is known for having some crazy biodiversity and wild scenery. These guys in particular can be found in a massive crater in the region said to have been left behind by a legendary Pokémon several millennia ago!!!
They're rock/psychic types, too, which i feel like isn't a super common occurrence. The crystals on their heads emit telekinetic energy, and actually gets used in a lot of the floating technology you see nowadays! Im kinda ashamed I never originally got to study these guys up close, but I may see if this student would be willing to help me out again in the future regarding these guys.

Wanted to give it a few days to blow over, but I did end up having to kick out my first guests recently! Some entitled brats who were loudly partying at late-af-o-clock.
Other than that, and the nightmare that is working friday nights, I've been enjoying being employed so far. Nice and quiet on a good night, usually just get to chillax with my pokemon at front desk.
I tried to get Pi to wear a little vest like I have am supposed to. She just kinda froze up and went limp. I think the vest was too tight and she was too fluffy.
I think one of my new favorite videos I've seen on the internet is this conga line of dittos using transform in some sort of strange ditto game of telephone. One transforms into like, a bulbasaur, and it's features gradually looks less and less distinct as each ditto down the line copies the copy, eventually ending in a silly green blob.
