sex work is shown as “sexy” and “empowering” when youre taking pictures of yourself to sell, but god forbid you physically make somebody cum for money. often we are derided, patronized and seen as unwitting victims, or simply left out of the discussion (and trust me the silence is DEAFENING and says a lot on its own)

In Gaza… life is not as the world imagines it.

We wake up every day to fear that never ends, to anxiety that lives in our hearts before it lives in our homes.

Our days are heavy. We try to hold on to hope despite the pain, and we smile through our tears.

Here, the simplest things have become wishes…

Safety is a wish. Food is a wish. Sleeping peacefully is a wish.

We dream of a normal life like everyone else. We dream of a safe home, of electricity that doesn’t cut off, of clean water, of a stable school, of a night without fear.

We are not numbers in the news… we are human beings.

We have tired hearts and dreams that are postponed every single day.

We try to stay strong, but we need someone to stand with us — a helping hand, someone who hears our voice and does not ignore it.
