and then i'll be nothing forever
Stuff I noticed that I wanted you share:
- Diane is in black and white while Rick is colored
- Diane's string is jumbled and hard to make out(?) while Rick's is easy to see
- Diane is closing her eyes(?) And no looking at anyone while Rick is only looking at Diane
- Rick is reaching out to Diane while she has her hands behind her back
- Diane's face is covered partially but I still struggle to see her face. Might be a me problem tho.
Let those sink in.
what if Evil Morty's personality changes (the sassiness, etc.) are a direct result of him teaming up as batman and robin with Rick Prime, who is, in fact, alive. send post
Stage 1: denial
AroAce phenomenon:
-Thinking you're straight at first because you're not attracted to the same gender
-Thinking you're Bisexual/Pansexual because you like all genders the same
-(optional) thinking you're Asexual because you're not attracted to anyone and you simply looked it up on google
-(optional)researching and finding out that Asexual means having little to no sexual attraction towards anyone, not not having attraction to anyone
-(optional)by proxy, learning that romantic and sexual attraction are separate (took me a while to know this)
-Finally, FINALLY, figuring out you are AroAce
What if Morty had psychic powers? Like, full-on Mob Psycho 100 style.
Hear me out: Morty has god-like psychic abilities, but he literally just wants to be a normal teenager. He keeps it a complete secret. He even made Jerry and Beth promise to never, ever tell Rick about it when Rick moved back in.
And the funniest part? Rick has absolutely no idea. Rick walks around acting like he’s the god of the universe because of his science, while Morty is sitting right next to him sweating bullets, trying not to accidentally blow up a planet with his mind because he got a C- on a math test.
"But how would Rick not notice during adventures?"
Think about the Purge episode! In this au, Morty goes crazy, but he’s wearing that high-tech suit. Rick probably just thought, "Wow, the kid is really using the suit's weapons to absolute perfection," while Morty was actually just using his mind to tear everyone apart because the suit couldn't keep up with his rage. Every time they survive something impossible, Rick takes credit for his tech, and Morty is just like "Yeah... sure... your tech saved us, Rick..."
ALSO, think about Jerry.
Jerry knows about the powers, and you know he would use his own son's god-like abilities for the most pathetic, lazy things ever.
Jerry would definitely come into Morty’s room like: "Hey, uh, Morty... I know you’re trying to suppress your world-ending powers, but can you use your mind to change the TV channel? The remote is all the way over there and my back hurts." Or he makes Morty float the lawnmower so Jerry doesn't have to push it.
Imagine Morty constantly holding back his power, suppressing his emotions, just to survive high school, Rick's chaotic BS, and his dad asking him to psychically open a tight jar of mayonnaise.
Rick: "I'm the smartest man in the universe, Morty! I can do anything!"
Morty, holding back a literal psychic apocalypse because a bully pushed him: "Aw man, geez Rick, yeah, you're the boss."
"Aw jeez... I slipped."
Headcanon:
The reason Morty doesn't have any hobbies including sports is because they always end in catastrophe. Except track.
This is because he has trouble controlling his powers when directing them outwards(specifically, towards external solid objects), however he, for some reason, has no trouble controlling them when the power is directed inwards.
He suspects he has more control over keeping his powers in then letting them out because he's always keeping them in, therefore, when he directs it outward, his powers burst(like a balloon).
So now he primarily has indoor hobbies such as gardening and pottery. And also maybe track. Idk.
(Click for better quality. But I can't guarantee that the art will be better.)
Tbh I rlly hate how the only way to know this is Morty is by the tags and previous knowledge. Why is it so hard to draw Morty in any other style?? Why can't he be special?? WHY???

Saw someone saying: “Sometimes I think Marta deciding to stay in the Roy game caused Morty to be missing part of the drive needed to reach his full potential.” And that can be true. Morty is still Rick’s Prime grandson.
It’s so sad that Morty was the one to realize that the parasites could only make good memories.
Morty realized who the parasites were, because they were only ever nice to him. Every memory he had with them was good which he knew couldn’t be true. No one was ever that nice to him even his family.
When all those memories were good, he knew that it couldn’t be real, because reality was never that good to him.
I want Morty to run away at the end of the season and then we are officially left with it as the Rick show
#mortyscrowarc
Jkjk
In all seriousness, I think Morty isn't going to. He cares too much about his family and worries too often about Rick. While I think he does in fact deserve his own 2 crows arc, I don't think it would be in character for him at all.
If he does have his 2 crows arc for real, I think he'd still be trying to save the multi verse lmao. Like, trying to fix Rick's mistakes(in S5E9), or saving the CFC like how Em and Rick C137 did during S9E1.
Or maybe he'd just be wandering around. And we'd have no knowledge about what he's doing out there becuz now itsit's the Rick Show. Without Morty.
OP what emotion is this even supposed to convey

⚠️Minor Spoiler⚠️
Can we talk about how Morty is way more aggressive to Evil Morty than Rick is?
Rick is usually calm or just annoyed. But Morty is always furious. This proves Morty isn't just scared of Rick replacing him. He is scared of Evil Morty because he sees himself in him. It’s not jealousy—it’s fear of his own reflection.
I feel like, Evil Morty is like a mirror to our Morty. They are not as different as we think.
And
Morty is fighting hard every day to hide his own dark side. Seeing Evil Morty reminds him of what he could become, and that scares him the most.
I would like to add to this post by mentioning the fact that Morty says something that seems to be an accusation... BUT (based on E.M's reaction) turns out to be right. He doesn't even NEED to finish his sentence either. They BOTH KNOW what he was gonna say.
He literally figures E.M out faster than Rick aswell..He didn't need to be a genius at all to do that.
Really ties into the fact that Morty Prime IS smart, it's just he's too insecure to think of himself like that. He overthinks everything and thinks he's wrong, but when he has to think quick, has enough time to think about it properly, or when he's more confident, he "becomes" smart.
Prime examples:
Eye patch Morty detaching himself from all emotions
Detox Morty being more confident, and somehow being able to climb the social ladder REALLY fast.
The vindicators episode
The whirly dirly conspiracy (he literally said the device is Rick-level stuff, but then proceeds to learn how to use it in a singular car ride).
Istg if I see another spoiler on this app I'm GOING to lose it
Since the new season’s trailers have shown Rick in a state intense disarray caused by drugs and alcohol and some of Morty’s reactions to it, here’s my favorite example of how Morty is actually intelligent. He just needs some extra..extra pressure to get past his insecurities.
“I’ll disarm the drunkenly improvised neutrino bomb. There’s a 40% chance that it’s a dud, but you should still stay back.
“Morty, how many of these?”
“Too many, Rick, too many!”
There’s been a lot of bombs that he’s disarmed because of Rick. If it was a 40% chance of being a dud, then what did he do when the rest of the 60% blew up? Morty does that math very quickly. He also shows that he knows how to deal with them when they do go off. Rick said that it could take out a whole planet. That sets up a whole new set of questions.
If he’s at home, he takes the portal gun while Ricks blacked out. Opens a portal somewhere that is hopefully evacuated or empty space and kicks it in. Anywhere else, try to drive away as quickly as possible and hope you don’t have to drag Rick into the car
YESSS...!!!!
This is exactly why the vindicators episode is in my top 3, and it's not 3 and it's not 2. I rlly like episodes where Morty shows his intelligence, since every other episode shows him relying on Rick. I still like episodes that show that sometimes when it's told in the proper way(like the fear hole episode).
I am first and foremost a person of science, SO.
Poll directed towards abuse survivors of tumblr
(not armchair psychologists, nor "my-brother-had-an-ex-who-turned-him-down to-return-to-her-physically-abusive-ex" tumblers)
Did you think S09E01 "There's Something About Morty" was good representation of the (real phenomenon of the) victim returning to the abuser?
Yes
No
I am not talking about whether or not the victim-returns-to-the-abuser generally happens (therefore "the episode is okay because it showed something that happens") nor even if it's the sort of thing Eyepatch Morty, specifically, would do (because he could have, in theory, gone through some off-screen loneliness crisis).
I am asking if you think the episode handled this serious topic well. If it was accurate. If you think people will understand the phase where you returned (if that happened) better after watching it. If you felt seen. If you thought "yes, the writers did a good job on this"?
Edit: shoot, I should have included a third "show me the results" option in the poll, now I have to wait a week to see the results
Okie dokie, Ive never talked about this to anyone before(aside from a small mention on my 2nd blog), but here we go!
Me personally, I answered no. While I did in fact return to my abuser first without my abuser doing anything(as in trying to seek attention), this episode did not resonate with me whatsoever. Why? Because it was used in a way that made the victim(in this case, Eye patch Morty), seen as a "villain" for returning to his abuser. Like. Full on villain. They even fought him and everything. They made him seem like the bad guy for wanting to return to his abuser.
If they had maybe used it properly (like show Em's POV on all this), it would have been 100 times better!! Like, good representation of how a victim wants to return to the abuser! Show the process! Show what he thought during the whole ordeal!!
Instead, we got him just(seemingly out of nowhere), threaten Rick without any show of why he would so.
So yes, it was ass in terms of representation. Like. If you're gonna show a victim returning to an abuser purely out of the forced trauma bond, then do it right. Don't make the victim the villain.
I CAN'T be the only one who thinks of them that way right????
*Rick not included in the ship

Mortys have been dissociated and depersonalized since they met Ricks. However they meet, whether they started as clones or he moved in with them, they’ve been detached from reality. It’s really the only to way to live with Rick(especially as a child). Compartmentalizing and seeing the world as closer to a video game than reality is what the Mortys(who can stand Rick) have done. It’s why when they ‘age,’ they’re even more desensitized to the fact that they are also people and can make their own choices. Even Prime Morty has started to stop fighting Rick when it comes to morality like when he argues about the car battery being slavery. He was the second one to rebel and ‘win’ against a Rick. He may have been fighting Evil Morty, but still, he confidently went against Evil Rick. It’s probably why Evil Morty likes him, but refuses to admit it. He wouldn’t have come back for him in Unmortricken if he didn’t.
"character deserved better" (but they were never going to get it that's the stuff great tragedies are made of) vs "character deserved better" (but the writers really blew it)
