Grey drops

It was the same rain I once loved that finally drowned me.

I remember how my heart smiled as the first drop touched my cheek,

how it washed away the sadness clinging to my bones.

But the numbness I took for comfort grew heavy,

and by the time I understood,

I was already lost beneath the waves

Of joys, of sorrows, of oceans so vast.

With every breath, I feel the shards,

Fragments, I know, of my broken heart.

October, October, you bring mornings of hope,

Of calm, of growth, peace within the chaos' scope.

Falling leaves and raindrops, elegant and gray,

You make their fall graceful, as they drift away.

With all your chill and breezy air,

Whispering softly, “It’s okay to despair,

For you'll grow again, in green and blue,

Sparkling fresh with life anew.”

October, October, when you return once more,

Bring those memories of joy, of oceans, and lore.

And so, I'll smile as you pass me by,

With a heart renewed and a bright goodbye
