Y'know I flinched when I saw it,

I flickered like bic in the breeze

I had a thought, and then forgot it.

It was right there, like a blocked sneeze

I've struggled. Watching myself, I remember, freeze, regret.

It all hurts, nothin feels right. But I can't die, oh no, not yet.

So I struggle, watch myself set it to repeat, and forget.

Cause I saw it once, that mythical place.

It's shifty, It takes up many a face

I saw it in a drag queen's bed.

It was past those wondering eyes,

It was deep inside her beautiful head.

I saw it, where the bright side resides

Where we're all too tall to hide

She was real, I was almost there

I was looking for the me inside,

But I had never thought to care.

No perfect tone matched plastic faux grass

Still I saw, she found it, the good side.

And nowadays life just goes so fast

I get a pink slip before I ever apply

I make the wrong choice before I ever decide

I'm looking for where the flowers sometimes bloom,

Where there's only the occasional uncertain doom.

I'm so scared every single day,

Ich wurde von meiner Umgebung verpestet, bis ich versuchte mich aufzurappeln und zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben Luft atmete, die einen süßen Duft in sich trug, wie frisch aufgeschnittene Vanilleschoten. Sie war weich wie ein Kaninchenfell;

frisch wie ein Minzwasser mit Eiswürfeln im Sommer;

rein wie ein frisch gefallener Schnee am Weihnachtsabend;

zart wie ein Maiglöckchen das im leichten Frühlingswind klingelt.

Ab da begriff ich,

dass ich aufstehen muss,

dass ich aufwachen muss, dass ich mich umorientieren muss,

dass die Luft oben besser, angenehmer und süß wie ein Lollipop ist.

Und so rappelte ich mich weiter auf, bis ich fast gerade stand. Doch dann brodelte die Luft von unten. Sie wurde dicker und einengender. Ich fühlte mich wie gefesselt. Die verpestete Luft zog mich in ihren Bann. Sie zerrt an meinem Körper, an meinen Beinen und Armen, sie zieht mich zu sich. Ich versuche die Erschütterung standzuhalten, doch ich bin zu schwach. Meine Kraft scheint nicht zu reichen. Ich war zu lange am Abgrund, sie wollte mich nicht frei lassen. Ich bin Sklave ihrer Macht. So wurde ich zu Boden geschellt.
