Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, both key figures in the gay liberation movement, will be honored with a permanent installation in Greenwich Village.
It’s about damn time! I wish I could go back in time and meet Marsha and Sylvia ❤️ ❤️ They gave so much to this world and community, we should all continue the work that would make them proud.
Be you, be brave, be proud!

Too many folks talking about building labor movements on social media while leaving all the household labor to (m)others. Want to celebrate May Day? Here are some things you can do: Question how your self-care (or personal goals) is affecting the labor distribution around you. Think about people who are picking up the slack, (or are being affected by your relationship to labor) Reflect on their identities and yours. Clean that damn kitchen. Revolution starts at home. And Happy May Day!

This month’s entry includes a review of the book Thamel.
I needed to talk about this book even though it is old(ish) because it is an important piece of literature, and because it drew my mind to conversations around caste, decolonial politics and other yummies I frequently indulge in. The irony is that the author (most probably) did not intend for any of this. But that is one of the many reasons why it is such a good book. Read it, and this review
