Shane and Ilya would both get book deals, I think. But Shane's would be part practical hockey guidebook, part motivational self-help book. He and Yuna write it together. He just wants there to be a book that new professional hockey players can read that will give them an idea of what to expect. Especially players moving to North America from overseas who are having to enter a whole new world not just in their career, but their whole life. And even though it's aimed at pro hockey players, it has wider appeal from hockey fans who like to dream about what it might have been like to be a pro player. It's also just super fucking funny. Like genuinely worth the read just for the humour and wit alone.
Ilya's is a memoir called something like "This Boy Pucks" or "Big Stick Energy". It turns out to be surprisingly poignant and emotional because he's super honest about what happened to his mom, growing up in an abusive home, his own struggles with his mental health, and what it's been like being one of the first two MLH players to ever marry each other. It's funny of course, but also gut-wrenchingly beautiful.
And, of course, they each dedicate the book to the other. Because the story wouldn't be the same without him.

A 3 Troy Harris Comic: Why does this brooding hockey player keep giving me coffee? Inspired by Role Model by Rachel Reid
Had lots of fun drawing and colouring these hockey boys! Troy and Harris mean a lot to me so it was great to create this comic in their honour! Please look at the backgrounds, I spent like 3 hockey seasons on it.

I'm still pretty new to Blender so I'm sure he's not the best model one could make, but hey, he's here, and I ultimately won my battle last night when trying to stop the shadows from flickering in the rendered animation of just him in his jar (turned out to be something with the background of the scene). I added the little stars and fireflies in afterwards with my regular paint program's animation software since I felt like he needed some extra little embellishments and there was a lot of empty space to his right.
Here's a still because the GIF got a little bit crunchy with all the converting I had to do to edit it and everything lol, frankly I think his skin turned out a bit too pale but I don't really feel like re-editing my textures right now 😅 At some point I'd like to maybe try and do that thing where you make a bone controller to switch their facial expressions and model his little sardine can bed, but for now I need to just let myself take a rest from Blender because I cannot do anything in moderation

You guys know that viral trend where girls showed their scary dogs and it evolved to be their scary looking boyfriends?
Svetlana and Rose make a TikTok where they're both walking in the street and the caption goes "when you've got scary boy friends privilege" and the camera cuts to Ilya and Shane walking a little ways behind them, totally oblivious, resting bitch faces on.
It goes viral immediately. Shane finds the comments thirsting over him absolutely mortifying, Ilya finds the whole thing hilarious.

You know that meme that’s like “A job will have you, a 21 year old, with a 55 year old bestie” Well, AU where Ilya gets hired at the Treasury Board and quickly becomes besties with David Hollander. They’re really good at their jobs so they finish most of their work by 10:30 am and spend the rest of the day fucking around and pretending to be busy together. They get lunch together and talk shit about their boss. David tells Ilya that he’s throwing a birthday party and asks Ilya to come. “You can meet my son and talk hockey! I think you’ll like him!” Ilya decides to go and the party is in full swing when he arrives. David takes him around, introducing him to people until they make it to David’s son. David introduces him to Shane and Ilya is taken by how beautiful Shane is. He’s admiring Shane’s freckles when it dawns on him that he’s staring at THE Shane Hollander, best hockey player in the league. David told him that his son plays hockey but he never put it together that David’s Shane was THE Shane. Ilya and Shane end up in the far corner of the living room, talking all night as the party goes on around them. Years later at their wedding, during his speech, David admits to throwing the birthday party to hook Ilya and Shane up.
personal hc that one of the hollanov kids loves hockey but it's just not clicking even though they practice all the time and shane and ilya both try different coaching methods with them and it only makes everyone more frustrated and then one day wyatt comes to the rink with them and after 1.5 seconds on-ice he's like "hey i think they're a goalie" and shane and ilya nearly black out because oh. ohhh my god. they're kid is totally, completely, a goalie. and that's why it wasn't fucking working. they have a fucking goalie.
