❝Y-You’ve never had donuts before?❞
Celica was surprised, and she had no idea why. Maybe it’s because the other had never tasted the delicacy known as the donut? As a sweet tooth, this startled the redhead. Once again, Celica was letting her craving for sweets dedicate her feelings. In her childhood, sometimes, there would be donuts baked along with other sweet treats. Given that she’s royalty, this was to be expected. Those memories, along with that of hanging out with her brother, Conrad, were the some of her happiest in her childhood.
❝By the mother, I’m surprised! Have you had ANY sweet foods before? If not, that simply won’t do. I do believe I have some of the city’s currency with me. I believe it’s called… dust? They give people dust when they enter the city, or so I’ve been told. I’d be willing to buy some for you, if you’d like!❞
Yes, Celica is offering to buy this girl who she’s known for a total of five minutes some donuts. The girl simply couldn’t believe that the other had never had donuts. As she said, that simply won’t do at all. Generosity was one of her selling-points. Sage Halcyon, among others have noted her generous heart.
The girl smiles. She’s royalty, she’s allowed to do this, right? If Alm loved cookies, or donuts as much as she does, she would have done this for him. In her opinion, a life without a sweet delicacy was a life not spent well. How are you living if you’ve not a donut or a cake before?
splitting her attention between the girl and the scene of pastry-baking beyond the window was mildly distracting, but kida found herself unable to focus entirely on just one. the girl’s clear enthusiasm was contagious, but the work in the shop was equally fascinating, and so kida found her sea-gray eyes flickering wildly between the two subjects. the girl’s surprised exclamation at kida’s lack of knowledge on donuts momentarily drew her gaze on the other, however, and she tilted her head, a smile playing across her lips. clearly whatever pastries were being baked were common on the surface world, and kida could only guess they had been released after the sinking of atlantis. a shame, she thought, casting her attention back to the fluffy, glazed items.
❝ I admit, we do not have ‘donuts’ where I call home, and my mother did not bake them. ❞ a strange assumption, kida had to admit, to think her mother would know of them. ❝ We have sweets, but not, ❞ a vague gesture to the other side of the window, ❝ these kinds. They are strange, but good, I hope! ❞
it was the offer that made kida’s smile widen in surprised delight, her arms reaching forward to clasp the other girl’s shoulders in a fit of happiness. ❝ You would do that, for me? Ah, what kindliness you offer! ❞ she leaned forward, faces inches from the girl’s, eyes sparkling as their noses touched briefly in her excitement. ❝ But I would not accept such generosity from one who does not even know my name. I, ❞ she began, one hand releasing the other to press to her own heart, ❝ am Kidagakash, although you may call me Kida. ❞
