“Oh,” Daisy replied sympathetically with a knitted brow.  She couldn’t really imagine not being with her family during the holidays.  Even though usually a couple of folks aren’t able to make it, but the majority tend to show up and celebrate together.  “Well, still, if you can’t really spend too much time together, I hope you have a great time with the family you have here,” she smiled.  “If you and your sister are free, hopefully I’ll see you at a couple of these parties?” she asked with a tilt of her head.

“Is that an invite Miss Daisy? Sounds like you’re starting to think ahead to all of those meetings in person you were referencing,” he said teasingly. “I like parties so you’ll probably see us at a couple of them.”

“Yeah! Here’s my phone, go ahead and put in your number and then text yourself from me so you have mine.” He matched actions to words as he spoke so she could get started. “We can figure out all the details once you’re settled in.”

Cressida was honestly in shock that Freddie was even real. She sniffled, her eyes tearing up again as she bit her lip. She didn’t cry again, though. Not really. “Okay,” she said softly. This night could have gone a whole lot worse, if she was honest. If anyone but Freddie had come across her, then things might have gone badly. “I really appreciate it.” Typing in her number, she passed the phone back.

Was Daisy just going to be a perpetual shade of red all day with Freddie around?  No, she needed to focus if she was going to have to get through the rest of her workday.  “That sounds lovely!  Are you all staying in Verona to celebrate?” she asked.  She could only imagine that Christmas here must be a little different from what they experienced in Ragusa.  “Very similar!  Mostly spending the holidays with family.  Sometimes there are a few fancy parties that Verona has and we’ll try and go to those.  It’s always a lot of fun!”

Plus it’ll give my other sisters a chance to settle in with their claims and start to make some of their own family traditions which is pretty important.” He grinned in response to her excitement. “That sounds like it! Holiday parties are always the best parties.”

“I guess it helps that I’m so easy to find. And just so you know, I’m ok if you don’t always have to have an excuse.” He found himself slightly reluctant as she pulled away again. “Mostly I plan on spending time with my family. We’re for sure going to be spending Christmas Eve with each other, and Audrey and I usually do a bunch. Other than that, no real plans. What about you?”
