Too Late to Apologize? || Daisy & Jim

Jim just shrugged in response to that. As had been established, he wasn’t great at the emotional stuff and it was usually easier to drop it. He didn’t see the point in dragging it out if he didn’t have to. He didn’t owe anyone his thoughts or his feelings. But it he was honest, it was hard for him to figure out when people would push and when they would hold back - what was too much or not enough. Easier to stop early enough that he still felt in control.
Before he could make an escape, Daisy was shuffling him out of the shop and dragging him down the street, insisting that he needed to go out to eat with her. He couldn’t entirely hide the chuckle as he shook his head. Yep. He had no idea how to keep up with her. “Fine, fine. I guess food is a good idea. As long as this isn’t part of the long game to poison me.”
“Poison you? I would never be so obvious,” she teased as she threw a wink at him from over her shoulder. Slowing down a little, she continued to walk with her hand lightly gripped around Jim’s wrist. “Besides, eating is important, Jim.” A few more feet, they arrived to the front of a small cafe. Only then did she realized she was still holding onto Jim. With a slight blush, she let go to open up the door. “After you,” she offered with a giggle before following in.
“Hi, Sid! Can we grab a table for two?” she asked, walking up to the server she had made friends with. “They have great pastries here if you’re into that!” she added as she turned back to Jim.
