Beyond the Bridges
It’s been one week since we launched </reality> on kickstarter, and we are now 45% funded, with 80 wonderful backers! There’s still a long way to go, but we are hopeful that we’ll make it “beyond the bridges” and reach successful funding!
Speaking of beyond the bridges, we have been busy working on both the art and story for the first book of the game. In Departure (chapters 1-4 of 10), the beta testers enter the world of Vitalia and are amazed by its wonders. The middle island of Vitalia offers plenty to explore, but the areas beyond the bridges are of course a temptation (despite being expressly forbidden by Jacob). One of the bridges is depicted in the new background art below. Would you cross it?
Let’s just say you might encounter more than you bargained for out there… and it may not end well. Or maybe it would - it could just be a matter of perception.
In other news, we have uploaded a minor update (now with SFX) to the demo which you can download on IndieDB.
As mentioned in our last update, we plan to release a bigger update to the demo in the next week or so.

We are raising money to develop our next game, a visual novel with a focus on impactful player choices and character development. The story has elements of both sci-fi and fantasy, and is about virtual reality, with some mind-bending philosophical twists.

My Cats are Melkor and Manwe
After reading "The Silmarillion" I think I have made a groundbreaking discovery, right in my own home. I'm not sure, but I believe that the spirits of Melkor and Manwe have been reincarnated within two members of my family - my cats!!
Here's some evidence:
This is Phoebe.
She is grumpy, aloof (but secretly gets lonely), always wants more than she can have, and will go from being cute to viciously violent within seconds. Her main problem is that she's fearful, and her fear drives her to lash out. She's acquired lots of nicknames during her 11 years in our family: 'demon panther'... 'schitzo kitty'... 'queen of darkness'. And now she has a new one: 'melkor'.
And on the other hand we have Dinah:
She is sweet, mellow, very trusting, and loves being in high places. She is a very impressive jumper, and will make huge, flying leaps through the air, which earned her the nickname 'super dinah' (a la 'super man') a few years ago. In her nearly 6 years in our family she has been nothing but a model of kitty virtue. She's a baby Manwe!
Phoebe does not tolerate Dinah being in her space. She wants to have everything to herself.
When this sometimes occurs:
It will invariably end as this:
"*HISS* ...Yeah that's right this is MY window."
Phoebe watches Dinah closely, and gets jealous when Dinah gets praise and attention.
As for Dinah, she is wary of our mini melkor. She knows Phoebe is almost always up to no good...
"Oh god what are you plotting now?!?" *ears back in apprehension*
However, Dinah gives Phoebe second chances, always hoping she will reform and be nicer. They are "siblings" after all.

Super messy sketch to celebrate finishing the Silmarillion today! Valar brothers Melkor and Manwe - at the beginning. Back when Melkor was just grumpy and hadn't done anything particularly awful yet. :P

In this game, everything has been swapped with something else. Can you defeat the fire-breathing kitten, save your beloved toilet, and find the potato of legend?
Today we've launched a greenlight campaign for this crazy parody adventure game with lots of randomness and a ridiculous amount of silliness. I developed this game and it still cracks me up every time I play or watch it being played. It is quite honestly probably the funniest game I've ever encountered.
We made this game in a crazy 2-week crunch to challenge ourselves to finish something very quickly in the middle of all our other bigger beastly projects. It was an awesome break.
And now there is only one thing left to do - we will be adding voice-acting to the game sometime next month. It will be amazing.
