So about those Clone Wars Ocāsā¦uhhhā¦I may have speed-run their ref sheets in prep for art-fight.
Soā¦
Yay?
Yea this counts as a yay moment!
Please ignore me going full yap mode under the cut. XD
So, a few things that need covering before we go further. The first of which being, āSheeva they arenāt all identical, how can these be clones?ā Personally, I go a little nuts if all my characters look too similar, I feel like they wonāt be recognizable or that theyāll be confused with each other too easily, so I leaned in really hard into the slight differences clones can have. On top of that, Iāve kind of made it cannon in my au that the kaminoans experimented with different strains to try and keep the base Jango dna from deteriorating so fast. As a result, a lot of batches are just slightly different from each other in hair, eye, and skin color. The best example here being Beetle and Quack whoāre from the same batch and both have those blue eyes and a more faded brown color to their hair (Quack was the outlier in his own squad with everything about him being paler in general). Not huge deviations, even I couldnāt justify a way for that to happen in my au (and also it would defeat the purpose of the word clone so naah), so when in a crowd theyāre still daum near identical.
That being said! I have managed to collect an entire squad of genetic deviants that absolutely shouldnāt have passed spec and quality control so I am gonna ask you to turn a blind eye to that! I think Racket and D-Caf are the most āclone lookingā here if weāre talking actual cannon⦠Shhhhh itās fineeeee!
The other thing is way more inconsequential and itās about their id numbers. For the life of me I have not found any consistent theories about how clone numbers work so I just came up with my own. If you noticed that little number in the middle thatās what weāre talking about!
So! Clone numbers are only four digits long, at what point do those numbers start repeating to accommodate for the vast number of clones in the gar? I am suggesting a secret middle number to keep track. It would act like a personās middle name and probably not get said outside of a couple circumstances, but would stop the confusion on how the kaminoans kept track of everyone. In my system a āsetā of clones would be 9999 strong, a set being those made at roughly the same time, and go from CT-01-0001 to CT-01-9999. Following that itād roll over to the next setās number, in this example being CT-02-0001, and just carry on from there. The logic being that there are so many clones that the likelihood that two CT-0001ās probably wouldnāt be deployed to the same battalion/company/legion/etc.
So yeeeee! Iām over here vibing with my boys and Iām so glad I can finally share them!
Hereās a little bonus older WIP doodle if you stuck around to read my deranged ramblings!
Have a good day!
