I appreciate the implication that this became a Vulcan Tradition thanks to either how high status his family is or because Kirk’s logs are required reading at Starfleet Academy and Vulcans are too embarrassed to correct their Starfleet doctors or tell them the celebrated Ambassador Spock was making stuff up about Vulcan culture to impress a boy.
