Personally, I think my art has some major rooms for improvement, so l have to ask: Where do you start when drawing the Koopalings?? Genuinely curious about your process. Thank you again for your fandom contributions, it really means a lot to see such high quality works in the Koopaling fandom.

when i started drawing the koopalings, i started out watching game cutscenes and gameplay and essentially doing timed drawings. id try and get the general form down to capture a certain moments energy, rather than staring at a reference for hours on end. its the reason i love drawing iggy and lemmy so much, theyve always had the most Kinetic Energy to me.
once i have general vibes and shapes down, thats when i get into stuff like proportions and giving the art dimension. mario kart 8 is a great resource, you can get a lot of different angles! i know how the koopalings snouts attach to their faces has always been a difficult thing for me to visualize, so ive been working on that.
dont be mistaken though, i was not holed up in front of a canvas in the dark like i was studying for an exam. i was drawing shit like this while i binge watched youtube videos of Mario and Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story.
make it fun! you can learn their proportions and designs along the way, no need to force yourself to rush through the process
