Sooooo I got an au of Frankenstein
Me and my friend and doing a modern interpretation of the story and having a bit of a role reversal. It essentially started with "what if the creature was treated nicely by his creator instead of abandoned immediately because of some wonky eyes?"
I'll put the details of it in bullet format, but idk how to do the 'keep reading' thing so this may be a long post.
The guy on the left is Vincent Walton, a nonbinary masc. scientist and an expert in cybernetics.
He proposed an idea of taking dead bodies and replacing damaged organs with cybernetic ones and attempt to "breath" life back into it.
His hopes are the same as victors, that at some point he'd be able to bring people back from life if it was taken in their prime.
Except his peers supported his endavors, since the concept of "playing in gods domain" isn't as popular as before.
One main supporter is named Hans. Nature photographer, rich kid and childhood friend of vincent
So vincent gets a body donated to him annonomously and he gets to work
The body itself had been shot multiple times and likely beat in on the head.
He replaces the enire muscular and skeletal structure of the body along with repairing the wounds on the body's chest as well as he could.
The brain of the John doe was also irreparable, so vincent had to rework the poor guys entire nervous system. (That probably was the biggest solo project of this)
Finally he turned on the custom ai he had made with his peers that was to grow and adapt like a human's
It's not dramatic, no storm or huge metal towers or whatever, just someone uploading a file and powering it up.
As soon as he did, the stranger woke up and was... VERY confused, as it is basically a baby
Vincent, having made them himself, isn't freaked out by the creatures eyes and helps take care of it and lead it to somewhere more comfortable than an operating table
Eventually they start going through names that the new being might like and the being chose the name "chanse."(guy on the left, obviously.)
