epithets for aphrodite !
𓂃﹏𓂃﹏𓂃﹏𓂃﹏𓂃﹏𓂃﹏𓂃﹏𓂃﹏
androphonos - killer of men
this epithet doesn't mean actual men i believe, just means like killer of people since men can be a general term for humans! could be wrong though <3
anadyomene - goddess rising from the sea
aphrogenia - foam born
i feel that the idea of a goddess rising from the sea is something so special, standing up from the foam, feeling the waves lap at her legs. i think these bring me close to her in the idea that it gives her a sort of human nature, and it's comforting that i can imagine and feel these things at the beach, that she felt once too.
areia - of ares; the warlike
aphrodite enoplios / hoplismena - armed
to me, these represent the times when love is not necessarily perfect, when it has its downs. it's kind of hard to explain, but she's a very comforting goddess to me, and these epithets represent when i need defence, she will be here to guard me. personally, these epithets link her to artemis as well as ares, obviously!
"Hermes is the god of thieves so he's fine with art theft!" No.
"Dionysos wouldn't mind it he's chaotic!" No.
"Hephaistos is a machinery god and AI is machinery so it's okay!" No.
"The gods wouldn't even care they just want offerings!" No.
There is not, and never has been, a reason to offer the gods AI art. It requires absolutely no effort or thought on your part as a worshipper, which defeats the purpose of an offering.
Do not support the use of AI art at ALL, much less as something given to Them.
"But it's all I can give!" Water. The Theoi fully accept a glass of water.
Sing.
Do a craft.
Write a letter.
Draw.
Dedicate a task.
Please do not offer those you worship something so lackluster and thoughtless as a computer generated image that destroys our environment and piggybacks off the works of others.

31 DAYS OF HELPOL: DAY ONE
is it december? no... but eh.
💬 26 🔁 263 ❤️ 445 · 31 Days of Hellenic Polytheism · Anyone can participate regardless of how long you’ve been a Hellenic polytheist! My h
Who was the first deity you worshipped? Do you still worship them?
Lady Hera! I started with Lady Hera and Lady Hekate at the same time, but I set up Hera's altar first. I don't worship her anymore, I had a long period of not being morivated and felt like I was doing a disservice to her so I took her altar down, though. Since I was so new I don't know if our interactions were real, but I'll never forget her kindness.
DAY TWO: Who did you start worshipping most recently? Why?
That's also a complicated question. Most recently, I went back to Lady Hekate after not worshipping for a long time and taking her altar down out of respect. When I worshipped her originally, I was inexperienced and had been told by a lot of sources that I should offer blood. Without knowing better, I did. Months after I took her altar down, I apologized and she reached out to me, I had this really intense urge to try to communicate with her and she told me she'd love for me to worship her once more.
However, if you're looking for a different answer that doesn't include someone I already worshipped previously, then that would be Lord Ares. I was just messing around and was curious to see if a deity was reaching out, I asked my guides, who said yes, I did a tarot spread. The answers didn't make a lot of sense at the time but he wouldn't let me leave until I said it was him LOL (i knew in the back of my mind the whole time was why)
I assume he reached out because of my emotional battles and anxieties as well as the fact I also worship Aphrodite. I've noticed a trend where if you worship one out of a pair of lovers, a lot of the time the other will enter your life as well. (I've noticed this most often with Hades and Persephone, though.)
DAY THREE: When did you start practicing?
2020... when "witchtok" was big. It got me into it, at least. I didn't start formally worshipping though until 2024. I'd been kinda on and off until that point, but I'd been researching and doing normal pagan stuff for a while.

31 Days of Hellenic Polytheism
Anyone can participate regardless of how long you’ve been a Hellenic polytheist! My hope is to use these questions to reflect on the year, and repeat next year to see what has changed, and hopefully to continue doing that every year!
Answer in as much or as little detail as you see fit. You are allowed to skip any questions that you are uncomfortable answering. These questions can also apply to heroes, not just deities. You can pick specific deities to answer each one, or answer the questions with all the deities you worship. This might apply to other Pantheons and I’m happy for it to be used as such. Feel free to tweak some of the questions to fit those pantheons if you’d like!
Please link this list on your posts with your answers so that it is easy for others to find if they want to participate too after seeing your answers.
THIS IS TO BE DONE DURING DECEMBER, I’M JUST POSTING THE LIST NOW SO PEOPLE CAN FIND IT!
Have fun!
Question! I was wondering if like in Christianity , if helpol has a specific "prayer sign off"( ex. Amen) that you know of?
Just trying to perfect my prayers !
Thank you you're literally so awesome
Khaire, Nonny! Thank you for the kind compliment! 🫂
I've asked this question myself many times and seen it be answered by other blogs as well, and the typical consensus everyone seems to come to is that there is no "official" way to end prayers. I've seen people come up with their own sign-offs, most of the time, which is also what I do, personally. I'll give a brief list of things you can implement, if you'd like to:
"Go with peace and love" or "I close with good intent"
"With my respects", "With thanks", or "With my gratitude"
"Amen" (this phrase doesn't belong to Christianity; it can be used for whatever you want to use it for; it translates to "So be it" from Hebrew)
"May it be so", "Verily", or "Truly"
"By the great names of the gods above, below, and in-between"
"From Olympus to Styx, and the earth in-between"
"Thank you kindly", "My kindest regards", or similar sentiments - I like to think of prayers like letters, so sometimes I end them like letters
"My heart is with you always" - for deities you have a very close connection with; expressing affection is something I do often with my deities, personally
An ending that changes depending on the prayer topic, such as "May joy always brighten thy face" when asking for happeniness/comfort or "May the winds always blow in your favor" when asking for luck/fortune
"Peace out", "Goodbye", "Have a wonderful day/night", or other such casual sayings; I actually use these myself because being casual is comfortable for me
I hope this list can give you some ideas to start with, at the very least. Others are more than welcome to add in the comments or reblogs! Take care, Nonny; I appreciate you. c: 🧡

Repeat after me, folks!!
You can't be a Hellenic pagan and be pro-Zionist.
You can't be a Hellenic pagan and be anti-Semitic.
You can't be a Hellenic pagan and be homophobic.
You can't be a Hellenic pagan and be transphobic.
You can't be a Hellenic pagan and hate on other minorities/religions.
You can't be a Hellenic pagan and be racist.
You can't be a Hellenic pagan and be an asshole.
Xenia is such a crucial part of Hellenic paganism. Anyone who disagrees with any of these points can kindly fuck off my blog.
Xenia was law and anyone who violated Xenia had to answer to Zeus
PLEASE DO NOT USE TIKTOK AS A RESOURCE FOR HELLENIC POLYTHEISM
Tiktok is probably one of THE WORST places to learn about REAL hellenic polytheism because it is rampant with misinformation and most creators are only interested in views and parroting misinformation THEY heard. Yes there are some great and informative creators on there to learn about the hellenic gods but they are far and few in-between.
INSTEAD if you're new to the religion and have no clue where to start researching/learning, here are a few phenomenal creators on here with wonderful and informative posts!
@wisdom-devotee has an amazing guide for starting out in hellenic polytheism
@seasaltdevotion also recently made a fantastic post on resources for starting out
@crazycatsiren has a SUPER long list of resources and research material
@khaire-traveler has possibly the greatest list on subtle deity worship for just about every god
Please actually learn from those of us that truly love and covet this religion and spread information that will truly benefit you.

Universal Offerings and Devotional Acts
Can't find many offerings that are specific to your deities? These are some offerings that are pretty universal offerings for all of them.
